Seventeen Supreme 104 flakie
Last week I showed you my midnight blue leopard mani using a shimmery navy base with a coat of gorgeous Seventeen Supreme flakie in 104. I managed to snap a few decent shots before I stamped over it!

Seventeen 104 contains blue flakies in a clear base. The base is quite thin and contains HEAPS of smallish flake pieces so you don't need many coats at all for a good even coverage. This is 1 coat over China Glaze Up All Night.

Thank you Christina for sending this gorgeous polish my way! She sent me another Seventeen flakie which I'll show you another day =)
Thanks for looking as always!

Midnight blue leopard manicure
I don't know about you but I find it sooooooo frustrating when a mani idea doesn't work out. I often get these flashes of artistic-ness and when I go to create it it fails! I had an awesome blue and silver feather stamped manicure in mind however the feather stamping decided to fail miserably so I ended up going with leopard stamping. My first leopard mani! I'm not sure the blue and silver goes together all that well but my sis said it looked fine and she is my harshest critic haha.

I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Up All Night which is a great navy creme with slight shimmer through it. I then layered over a coat of Seventeen 104 which is a fabulous blue flakie in a clear base that was gifted to me by Christina in the post I showed you yesterday! I then stamped full leopard image from Konad plate 57 using China Glaze Millenium.

Unfortunately because I stamped the leopard print it covered up most of the nail so you can't really see the gorgeous flakie. If you look closely at my pics you can just make out the brighter flakie pieces against the navy base!

I'm really digging the leopard print actually so expect to see some more leopard manis! I don't do leopard clothing or anything but I do love to experiment with my nails. Am I the only boring one?!!! Ha!

Picture Polish Festival
Flakies are my absolute favourite finish IN THE WHOLE WORLD. I've been obsessed with them forever! I remember when they weren't easily accessible and I had to search high and low for these coveted little bottles of flakie goodness. This season, flakie polishes are being embraced by mainstream companies and are making a splash in a big way. Aussie company piCture pOlish have come out with THREE "flakie covers" and I have Festival for you today. WORD OF WARNING: IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!!! XD

Festival consists of varying sizes of blue, green, red and orange flakies in a clear base. Here I've layered 3 coats over a black creme (no topcoat) and OMG doesn't it just look fantastic?!!! I absolutely adore the different coloured flakies and the almost duochrome effect it has in different lighting. It makes a nice change from the single coloured flakies. I love them too but a change is always nice!
The flakies apply kind of sparsely so you'll need a few coats for full flakie effect. Because you need a few coats it does take a while to dry but it's so worth it in my opinion. The formula is on the thicker side but very easy to apply and the brush was a pleasure to use too.

Overall: You NEED Festival in your life. Get thee onto their website and purchase yourself a bottle. Or 2. Or 3.
Details: piCture pOlish flakie covers can be purchased online from piCturepOlish.com.au for $11.90. They send internationally too!!
For a full list of international stockists you can check it out here.
Are you a fan of flakie polishes? Thanks for looking as always!
The product featured in this post was sent to me for consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion. My Disclosure Policy can be viewed here.

Nfu Oh 50 NOTD
I have for you today my NOTD using Nfu Oh 50. I don't think these polishes need an introduction! Especially the much desired flakies *drool*. I received this very special polish (my very 1st Nfu Oh!!) from my dear friend Christina from Cels deco nails in one of our swaps. I nearly passed out when she told me she was sending this beautiful polish my way!
Nfu Oh 50 contains flakies suspended in a light purple jelly base. On the nail the flakies go from blue to green depending on the lighting and is just BEE-YOO-TIFUL!!! Below is 2 coats of 50 layered over 2 coats of China Glaze Grape Pop topped with a coat of Color Club Vivid Color Intensifying topcoat. You can see Grape Pop fully swatched here. I really like using Grape Pop as a base for flakies for some reason! I did it here and here for Nubar 2010 hehe. I think it's a great alternative if you don't want to layer over black.

Bottle shot:

What a sexy bottle!!
A close up shot of the flakies below. As you can see, they can look blue or green! For this pic, I've used my boyfriend's Sony camera (TX9 if you're wondering) so it looks a little different from my other photos. I'm still trying to figure out how to get good macro shots of my nails with my new camera!

I don't know why I waited so long to use it! It's stunning on the nail. Application wasn't difficult even though the formula was a teensy bit on the thick side. I found I had to move some of the flakies around on the nail to get an even layer. Another pic for you of this wonderful polish:

Thank you for sending me this beautiful lacquer my friend! I want more x)
I wanted to do some shopping at the local shopping centres today but there were just way too many people so I gave up. The boy and I ended up going to Pancakes on the Rocks for lunch and then just doing some grocery shopping. Pancakes on the Rocks is always yummy and I usually end up ordering the same old things each time. I love their sweet pancakes so I had Strawberry Patch pancakes and crepes. 2 buttermilk pancakes is too filling for me so I get half and half so I can enjoy both!

Yummy fruit cocktail that I nearly froze drinking haha:

The boy had the Farmers Brunch crepes with extra Italian sausage (soooo yummy!) and a poached egg. The egg was hard though =(

Thanks for looking! =)

My 1st flakie manicure and good food!
Hi ladies! Sorry for the depressing tone of my last post. The weekend has cheered me up - work still sucks but nothing I can do about it ha! - after spending it eating and relaxing Thank you for all your kind words =) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
So here is a very quick NOTD to road test my awesome new Nubar 2010 flakies that my sis gave me. I did a test swatch on some nail wheels to see what colours looked best as base colours and I decided to use China Glaze Grape Pop from the Up and Away collection.
Grape Pop is a dark purple creme that is darker than it actually looks in the bottle. As per usual it was an absolute pain in the BUTT to capture correctly and the below picture is the best I could do. I found it a little thick to apply but still fairly easy. Halfway through my mani though I added 2 drops of trusty Seche Restore which did the trick. It's a very pigmented polish so 2 coats is enough for opacity or even 1 with super good application. Below is 2 coats without topcoat and it dried to a nice glossy finish.

I then applied 1 coat of Nubar 2010. I probably could have used another but I am rationing my bottles and using them VERY sparingly! It looks like I have a bald patch of flakies on my ring finger but it's not in real life, my hand just wasn't catching the light properly when I took the pic =p FLAKIES ARE SO AWESOME!! =D

I had lots of fun at the Good Food and Wine Show on Saturday. I went with 2 girlfriends and my sis so I was too busy to take many photos unfortunately! There was just so much yummy food and wine to try. We also watched Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris in the celebrity theatre - those 2 are just hilarious! They kept paying out Matt Moran and Aria haha. For the Aussies who love Masterchef we saw Alvin and Courtney wandering around too! We went to the restaurant for lunch were you could purchase entrees, mains and desserts from 4 celebrity chefs.
I had Gary's main of Bastilla of lamb, olives & pine nuts. This was so delicious and you could totally tell it was a Gary recipe! It was warm and hearty comfort food - just the type of food I love ;)

My sis had Tobie Puttock's Polenta Gnocchi with marjoram, tallegio and prosciutto. A little salty because of the proscuitto but the gnocchi was delicious.

I was tempted to buy heaps of food home but refrained. We got a Ritter Sport chocolate bag with 10 chocolate bars and a cute/funny patchwork bag.

Great for grocery shopping! Or chocolate shopping haha
Also some sweets from Treats from Home:

Love Wonka candy!
