Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer Mocha Sparkle
I showed you Scandal Cosmetics Heart Laquer in 60 Mocha Sparkle a few weeks back in my black studded manicure and I have some quick swatches for you today. It’s such a pretty glitter I had to use it on its own!

Mocha Sparkle is a very fine gold and bronze glitter polish with a tiny bit of blue, green and purple glitter thrown in. It’s covers quite evenly but you’ll need a few coats for opacity so it’s probably best layered over a base colour such as a gold or bronze foil or perhaps a black crème. I wanted to try it out by itself though so I used 3 thin coats which is pictured.

Blurred shot to show the sparkle and the teeny purple, blue and green glitter!

Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4 and Blackline lacquers are for $5.50.
Scandal Cosmetics have very kindly extended coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” to receive a huge 30% off your purchase! Don’t forget that there’s free shipping for purchases over $100 ;)
Thanks so much for looking and happy shopping!

Review: Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer Base and Top coat
I think over the years I’ve tried and tested at least 2 dozen different base and top coats in the quest to find the perfect combination. I’m lucky I’ve found my Holy Grail top coat but I like to mix my base coats up every so often and I’m always interested in discovering new top coats! Just in case there’s a better combo out there ;) Today I’m reviewing Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer base and top coat.

The Heart Lacquer base coat is a light pink shade and has a thin milky formula that dries very quickly to a matte finish.

The topcoat has a thin formula and dries to a wet look shine. I used the “floating” technique to apply it over nail art and no smudging woohoo! Non-smudging is a very important factor to me. It was dry to the touch in 15minutes and fully dry in 30mins. Unfortunately this is just way to long for me to wait for my top coat to dry as I polish my nails right before bed =(

Overall: I’m enjoying the Heart Lacquer base coat however the top coat just isn’t suitable for me due to the long dry time. I love when companies make their treatments completely different in the bottles (base coat is milky pink and top coat is blue) so there’s no chance of accidentally grabbing the wrong one.

Details: The Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer base and top coats are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4. Scandal Cosmetics have very kindly extended coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” and now you'll receive a huge 30% off your purchase! Don’t forget that there’s free shipping for purchases over $100 ;)

Purple dots and hearts manicure
So clearly I am sooooo imaginative when it comes to post titles - NOT! I’ve been wanting to try out a gorgeous purple glitter I received from Scandal Cosmetics but didn’t want the hassle of glitter removal so I used it in a purple skittles mani. Unfortunately I didn’t realise until after I’d taken all my photos and removed my mani that I had filed my ring finger nail ridiculously crooked so my mani looks weird =S

What I used:
Pinky: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Tart-y to the Party as my base. I did a glitter gradient using Scandal Cosmetics Heart lacquer in 47 Silver Holic* and Essie Set in Stone.
Ring finger: I used 1 coat of Scandal Blackline in 5804 Modern Black* and stamped dots using China Glaze Harmony.
Middle finger: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Tart-y to the Party as my base and 2 coats of Scandal Cosmetics Heart lacquer in 63 Purple Dia. Purple Dia contains large silver hex glitter and smaller silver glitter in a medium purple base. I love it layered over Tart-y to the Party!

Index finger: I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and added a heart rhinestone from their stone set*.
Thumb: 2 coats of China Glaze Tart-y to the Party as my base and I stamped dots using China Glaze Millenium.

The stone set contains a great mix of shades and sizes of rhinestones - there’s hearts (my fave!), teardrops, stars and ovals. I have other rhinestone sets and they don’t come with as much variety.

Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4, Blackline lacquers are available for $5.50 and the stone set is $6.
Thanks for looking as always!

Review: Scandal Cosmetics Rose Scented Nail Remover and Cleanser
Happy Monday ladies! A quick review of a Scandal Cosmetics nail polish remover for you today.

The remover comes in a very handy pump dispenser which is a must for me! I always transfer remover to a pump dispenser so it helps that this one comes with one already. It makes it soooooo much easier when swatching when you don’t have to battle lids and potential for spillage!

The polish remover is acetone free which I’m normally not keen on as I find it takes too long to remove polish so I was pleasantly surprised with it. It contains natural rose hip oil extract and leaves an oily film after you remove your polish – almost as though you’ve applied cuticle oil which I wasn’t expecting at all. Now you’d think it would smell like roses but it actually smells like lychees! Definitely better than the overpowering acetone smell.
I found it didn’t take too much longer to remove non-glitter polish than with normal acetone removers but definitely still had to scrub more. I wouldn’t recommend using it to remove glitters though, definitely stick to acetone for that!

Details: The Scandal Cosmetics Rose Scented nail remover & cleanser is available from the Scandal Cosmetics online store for $9.50.
Don’t forget to use my code “cosmeticcupcake” to receive 25% off your order! Free shipping for all orders over $100 too!

In the mood for teal manicure
Hi ladies!! Happy Monday =) I hope you’re all having a fab start to the week! I’ve been in the mood for greens/blue so I decided to try out this gorgeous metallic teal from the Scandal Silverline collection called 601 Moody Sky. Of course I had to bling it up a bit though!

I used 2 coats of Scandal Silverline lacquer in 601 Moody Sky*. It's an opaque teal metallic that applied beautifully and reminds me of the sea actually - it'd be perfect for an underwater mani! For my accent finger I used teal dazzling glitters* in a polka dot design.

I topped my other nails off with Scandal Heart Lacquer in 47 Silver Holic* which is a sparse silver glitter with holographic pieces.

Details: Scandal Silverline nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $5.50, Scandal Heart nail lacquers are $4 and dazzling glitters are $5.

Don't forget to use my coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” to receive a huge 25% off your purchase from Scandal Cosmetics online store! Don’t forget that there’s free shipping for purchases over $100 ;)

Golden fruit salad manicure
There is something about fruit manicures! I haven't done one in AGES so I thought I'd go all out this long weekend and break out the fruit fimo since I don't have to work ;) I redid one of my first fruit manicures and went with a golden fruit salad manicure!

I used 1 coat of Eyeko Petite Polish as my base and sponged Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer in 05 Gold Beam* onto the tips. Then I added cute pre-cut fruit fimo* just below the gold tips and some gold, blue, green and pink dazzling glitters* (aka gleequins). Topped it off with Scandal Heart Lacquer top coat* to seal it all in!

Having fimo pre-cut is sooooooo much easier! I love that there's a good selection of fruits in this pack.

Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4, nail art slices are $6 and dazzling glitters are $5.
Scandal Cosmetics have very kindly extended coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” to receive a huge 25% off your purchase! Don’t forget that there’s free shipping for purchases over $100 ;)
Happy shopping!

Scandal Heart Lacquer in 26 Beach Pink
Hi ladies! A quick swatch for you today of a gorgeous bright pink from Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer collection called 26 Beach Pink. I was going to do some nail art but I loved the polish on its own so I left it untouched!

Beach Pink is a bright rose pink which has an almost neon jelly like finish. It’s a bit brighter in real life on the nail and makes a fantastic shade to brighten the cold mornings or for a bright Summer pedi! My camera didn’t want to capture the shade properly unfortunately.

It was super easy to apply like the other Heart Lacquers (love the wide brush!) and it dried quickly. Here I’ve used 2 coats of Beach Pink and 1 coat of Scandal Cosmetics Heart Lacquer top coat for a glossy finish.

Neon black studded manicure
I found some time to do nail art this week and I was in the mood to break out the studs! I kept it simple though and only used a few and decided to go for some neon, black and glitter. Again, I’ve got another great offer from Scandal Cosmetics for you this week so keep reading!

I used 2 coats of Scandal Heart lacquer in 13 Bikini Pink* for my thumb and middle fingers. The name Bikini Pink is a bit misleading because the polish isn’t really a pink at all but a neon coral that leans pink and looks orange in most lighting. Confusing name aside it’s an awesome neon!!

For my index and pinky I used 2 coats of Scandal Blackline in 5804 Modern Black* and added square gold studs. For my ring finger I used 1 coat of BYS Astro Gold and then 2 coats of Scandal Heart lacquer in 60 Mocha Sparkle*.

I rarely wear black and orange/coral unless it’s Halloween but I really like the combination and it gives a nice contrast. I don’t think it looks Halloween-ish but I could be wrong though!

Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4 and Blackline lacquers are for $5.50.
This weeks offer! Use coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” between Monday 27th May – June 2nd 2013 to receive a huge 25% off your purchase! Don’t forget that all orders made by May 31st receive a free lipgloss and there’s also free shipping with purchases over $100 ;)

Pink glitter and bows manicure
Hi ladies! I have some quick girlie nail art for you today. Whenever I don’t get time to do nail art I always opt for a glitter gradient – quick and easy! My photos are all over the shop at the moment unfortunately as I’m still trying to figure out the best lighting situation so please bear with me =) I also have another exclusive offer for you from >Scandal Cosmetics so please keep reading!

I used 2 coats of Scandal Shine polish in 11 Pearl Pink* which looks like an unassuming pale pink with microshimmer in the bottle. Then bam! On the nail, it’s a gorgeous delicate pale pink with fine gold, red and green microshimmer. I’ll do a proper swatch of it once I get my lighting up and running! I then used China Glaze Medallion for the glitter gradient and added a cute bow nail part*. Topped it all off with Scandal Heart lacquer top coat.

Details: Scandal Shine polishes and nail parts are $6 and are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store.
This week’s offer! Use code "shinepolish" for $12 off your order. Valid from Monday 20th May - Sunday 26th May 2013.

Scandal Heart nail lacquer in 48 Red Sparkle
Hi ladies! I was contacted by Scandal Cosmetics recently to collaborate with them and to try out some of their latest products. Of course I said yes! I’ve used Scandal polishes over the years and if you live in Sydney or Melbourne I’m sure you’ve drooled over their colourful stands of polishes in cosmetics stores as I have! Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing swatches and some fun nail art using their products. They’ve also been very generous and each week there’ll be an exclusive offer for their online site for you guys! Today’s polish is from their Scandal Heart nail lacquer range which is my favourite collection.

48 Red Sparkle is a gorgeous packed red and silver glitter in a dark wine red base. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to try it out! You know how much I love glitters! Application was great and the glitters applied very evenly on the nail, dry time was good too. I really enjoy using the brushes in the Heart range – they’re flat and wide and remind me of the OPI Pro-Wide brushes I adore so much except they aren’t as flat. Even the bottles look nearly identical! Here I’ve layered 2 coats of Red Sparkle over 2 coats of Scandal Blackline in 5804 Modern Black.
