Breast cancer awareness products for 2011
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it's a cause that is very close to my heart. My awesome aunty is a breast cancer survivor and due to early detection she has beaten it twice. 1 in 9 women are diagnosed with breast cancer which is so so scary. Each year, beauty brands bring out limited edition Pink Ribbon products in support of this great cause and here are a few for you to keep an eye out for! I wanted to have this post up at the start of October but alas I am so so behind in posting. Better late than never I guess! All products mentioned in this post are available now =)
OPI Pink Shatter:
Pink Shatter is a limited edition shimmery pink addition to the crackle collection. A must for shatter lovers! In their 7th year as silver sponsors of, OPI again are donating 100% of profits from the sale of Pink Shatter to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It can be purchased from David Jones and selected beauty salons and spas for $19.95. I'll be showing you swatches of this gorgeous shatter very soon!
Clinique Mini Long Last Gloss Wear SPF 15:
This is SO adorable! This limited edition set includes three adorable Long Last Gloss Wears on a pink Clinique key chain with mirror. Clinique will donate $5 per product to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It is available exclusively online from www.clinique.com.au for a limited time for $35.

The best selling Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (DDML) is offered in a special limited edition bottle which features a miniature picture frame key chain adorned with a heart-shaped ribbon charm. One of their most popular products, Clinique is making use of DDML's popularity by donating $20 from each sale to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Spring is in the air! Striped Spring nails
It's officially SPRING in Australia!!! WOOT!! I just love Spring as it's not too hot and not too cold - perfect for my temperamental skin. It also means bright colours, pastels, pretty dresses and pretty heels!! I don't really follow seasons when it comes to my manicures (I wear brights in Winter and dark colours in Summer!) but the start of Spring calls for pastel polishes to be broken out. Not like I EVER need any excuse to haha. Here's my striped Spring manicure to get you in the mood for warmer weather!!
For my pinkys, I used 2 coats of China Glaze Light As Air; for ring fingers I used 3 coats of OPI What's with the Cattitude; for middle fingers I used 2 coats of China Glaze Lemon Fizz; for index fingers I used 2 coats of China Glaze Peachy Keen and thumbs I used 2 coats of China Glaze Something Sweet. PHEW!!
I then used Kiss nail art striper in white to draw about 4- 5 vertical lines on each nail and added a corresponding coloured fimo slice. You can check out my fimo tutorial here.

Vernis á ongles eclair 18 holo and a feature!
Today's swatch is a holo that I bought last year in HK which I actually swatched a while ago but didn't get around to posting oops! It's a Japanese brand that seems to be called Vernis á ongles eclair which translates literally to "nail polish eclair". They also have the typical Asian naming system which is just a number much to my dislike. Why can't they give them a name??! I can't seem to find any info on this brand either but we'll make do ;) I have 18 for you today.
Vernis á ongles eclair in 18 is a light dusty pink holo that has a somewhat scattered effect. Unfortunately I couldn't get a sunlight shot! It's a very work appropriate holo and it was easy to apply - no balding at all. I used 2 coats and some VNL (visible nail line) is there but I liked it at 2 coats. It dried super quickly too which was great!
I'm pretty excited today as I'm being featured on 2threads.com as the lucky last beauty blogger as part of the Dove Diaries campaign. 2threads is an Australian fashion and lifestyle site with great fashion tips, runway coverage, how-to's and competitions.

Review: Dove Go Fresh Revive Nourishing body wash
Hi ladies! I've had very sensitive skin for as long as I can remember and I've had eczema in varying degrees on different parts of my body since I was a child. It was very bad on the backs of my knees and arms at one point and I recall my Dr telling my mum I needed to stop using all soaps. They just stripped my skin of all moisture and I was one angry itching little girl! I started using the iconic Dove Beauty Bar (with 1/4 moisturising cream!) and my eczema improved out of sight.
When Dove body washes came out I switched over and they've been my absolute favourite body wash ever since. Of course I try many different brands but I find myself always going back to Dove so you can imagine my delight when I received one of the new Dove Nourishing body washes to try out a few weeks ago.
The new Dove Nourishing body washes contain NutriumMoisture® technology which is touted as Dove's biggest skin cleansing breakthrough since the launch of the Dove Beauty Bar. The technology is based on the technology found in the Beauty Bars but is in liquid form and enriched with lipids. These lipids work to keep the skin's moisture barrier intact while the mild cleansers remove dirt and oil from the skin.
What they say:
"Some body washes can strip the moisture from your skin. Dove is different. With breakthrough NutriumMoisture®, it's proven to hydrate and nourish skin deep down and maintain its beauty.. they contain an ultra mild formula that is designed for everyday use and has a product for every skin type and is clinically proven to nourish skin, leaving it soft and smooth."
I was very kindly sent the Dove Go Fresh Revive Nourishing body wash to try. It contains a lovely pomegranate and lemon verbena scent and is nice and moisturising. I'm a big fan of the updated packaging - the old packaging was clunky and heavy and this is much easier to open and close when in the shower which is fantastic.
Overall: I absolutely love this new addition to the Dove body wash range!! I love the scent and a little goes a long way as you only need a teaspoon of product for your whole body. It's gentle enough for my sensitive skin but still feels nourishing. The body wash also happens to be pink and contains pomegranate which are two of my favourite things so what's not to love! I can't fault this product at all except that perhaps Dove should consider a larger size in a pump bottle at some point ;)
Would I repurchase?: YES!! I'd love to try the Go Fresh Fresh Touch body wash next as it contains a refreshing scent of cucumber and green tea. Mmmmmm! Plus you can't go past the price either. $7 for a body wash that lasts and lasts gets a big tick in my book.
