Birthday manicure
Soooooo I am officially another year older! Not sure if I'm really wiser though haha. I got spoiled by the hubby this weekend and had a lovely lunch in the mountains and basically spent most of the time eating! I did a simple birthday mani because I had no idea what I wanted but had to have some gold glitter in the mix!
What I used:
Pinky: 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest and added bunting using Bundle Monster BM-H19 using China Glaze Passion.
Ring finger: I used 2 coats of Kester Black Fairy Floss* and created the chevrons using Nail Vinyls and Face of Australia Midnight Fireworks*.
Middle finger: I used 1 coat of Face of Australia Calypso Gold* and 2 coats of Models Own Gold Finger.
Index finger: I used 2 coats of Cult Nails Tempest and sponged Kester Black Fairy Floss* to the tip for a subtle fade.
Thumb: I used 2 coats of Kester Black Fairy Floss* and stamped balloon design from Bundle Monster BM-H20 using China Glaze Passion.
I have a love hate relationship with birthdays - I love the fun aspect of them but the whole growing older thing not so much haha. What do you guys get up to on your birthdays?
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Thanks for looking as always =)

Skulls and studs manicure
Happy New Year everyone!!! Can you believe it's 2013 already??? OMG! I hope you all had a fabulous Xmas and NYE =) The last few weeks have been absolutely mad hence the lack of posts but I've finally got a new post for you today. I recently hauled some indie items which included a few products from Vivid Lacquer. I was excited to get my hands on the stamping plate VL 001 which has a full skull image (so I can do manis for my skull loving friends Anita and Ange!) and other cute designs too. This mani doubled as my NYE mani as I didn't get time to do my nails doh!
What I used:
Thumb: I used 2 coats of OPI Glitzerland and Konad Special polish in black to stamp.
Index: I used 2 coats of Ulta 3 Black Satin and Konad Special polish in white to stamp.
Middle finger: I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and added 2mm square gold studs down the centre.
Ring finger: I used 2 coats of Ulta 3 Black Satin and I used China Glaze Passion to stamp.
Pinky: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Midnight Kiss as my base and added 1.5mm black round studs for a studded framed nail.
I treated myself to a new DSLR and macro lens for Xmas and I'm still getting used to it so my pics will be a bit all over the shop for the time being! Bear with me lol. I hope you're all having a fantastic start to the year! Thanks for looking as always =)

Santa suit manicure
Hi ladies I have for you my first Christmas manicure of the year! Well not exactly the first as I've done a few plain Xmas skittles but I didn't bother taking photos of them because they were't super exciting. I haven't done a santa suit mani before so thought I'd give it a go! Not the neatest job because I haven't done any nail art in ages so I'm rusty but oh well! I threw in some trusty glitter so you get distracted LOL.
What I used:
Thumb: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia and 2 coats of China Glaze Ring in the Red. Excuse the broken nail! =(
Index finger: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia and 2 coats of Lynnderella Happy Holo Daze! which is a perfect Xmas glitter. Oh I wish Santa would bring me more Lynnderella's for Christmas!!
Middle finger: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia and 2 coats of Lush Lacquer Santa Baby. Unfortunately I couldn't get any of the black hex glitters out of the bottle doh.
Ring finger: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia as my red base. For the white trim on Santa's suit I used Orly White Tips and for the black buckle I used Kiss nail art striper in black. I used China Glaze Midnight Kiss for the belt buckle.
Pinky: I used 2 coats of China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Ruby Pumps is still one of my absolute favourite reds of all time! Such gorgeous glittery goodness x)
I hope you're all getting into the festive spirit! Thanks for looking as always =)

Pretty in purple manicure
As you may know I do love my pastels/bows/polka dots and I haven't done a "girlie" mani in AGES so I made time to do one the other night ;) Only problem is I never know what to name these types of manicures each time I do one! Any suggestions?
What I used:
Pinky: 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as base colour, I then stamped diagonal full image from Konad plate m65 using China Glaze Millenium.
Ring finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Light as Air and 2 coats of Lynnderella Nosegay. I saw this combo over on The Polish Well and knew I had to try my bottle out ASAP with the combo. (I DO NOT CARE FOR THE LYNNDERELLA DRAMA BTW).
Middle finger: 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow as base, I then stamped bow image from Konad plate m59 using China Glaze Harmony and added a silver rhinestone.
Index finger: 2 coats of China Glaze Light as Air, I then stamped full polka dot image from Konad plate m79 using Konad Special polish in black
Thumb: 2 coats of Glitter Gal Serpent Black and 1 coat of Essie Luxeffects Set in Stones.
My photos are too yellow here but oh well. I just don't get enough time in to take photos in natural light especially during winter! I really should look into a lightbox but the problem is a) I have no where to put it, b) I'm lazy to make one and c) I'm too cheap to buy one haha!
Hope you like this mani =) Thanks for looking!

Simple nautical nails
Hi ladies! Today I have a simple and loosely inspired nautical manicure for you. I love nautical stuff and I've been meaning to do nautical nails for ages now! I wanted to do more with this mani such as add an anchor and more stripes etc but ran out of time so I had to leave it as is xp
For my pinky and middle fingers I used 2 coats of Essence 50's Girl Reloaded Back to the 50's from my dear friend Christina. It is a GORGEOUS red but my camera found it a bit difficult to capture. It's quite dark in real life and the last pic shows it most accurately.
For my ring finger I used 2 coats of OPI Glitzerland as a base and my favourite gold glitter Milani Jewel FX in gold. My index finger is 3 coats of OPI Alpine Snow and for my thumb I used 2 coats of LAKA 81 which is a super opaque navy creme. I then used my trusty Kiss Nail Art Paint striper in white to draw thick horizontal lines.
What do you think of nautical nails? A full nautical mani to follow soon hopefully!

Purple ombré manicure
Hi ladies! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend. I don't have time at the moment for fancy nail art so ombré manicures to the rescue! Today's is purple using some of my favourite purples in my collection.
Starting from my pinky, I used 2 coats each of China Glaze Light As Air, Barry M Berry Ice-Cream, Color Club Pucci-licious, Barry M Dusky Mauve and Illamasqua Baptiste.
Pucci-licious unfortunately is a blurple so it comes out way more blue in my pics than it is in real life.
Ombré manicures are so quick and easy! It's one of the easiest manicures to do but it's still something different ;) I might do up some colour combos later when I have time!

Pink China Glaze ombré manicure
Hi ladies! I really felt like pink nails the other night but I didn't want a plain mani, SO I thought I would do a pink ombré manicure with some of my favourite China Glaze pink polishes =) I should do ombré nails more often - it's quick and fun!
The pink polishes I used:
For my thumb I used 2 coats of QT; for my index finger I used 2 coats of Heli-Yum; for my middle finger I used 3 coats of Sugar High; ring finger is 3 coats of Something Sweet and my pinky is 3 coats of Encouragement.
When I was deciding what pinks to use for this mani I realised just how out of hand my nail polish stash is getting (for me anyway!).. I have 10 different pinks from China Glaze alone! HAHA!
What colour should I do for my next ombré manicure?!
Thanks for looking! Don't forget to enter my 2nd birthday giveaway here!

Easter manicure
Hi ladies! HAPPY EASTER! Once again a lack of posts from me unfortunately as I'm still unwell - I felt fine until Wednesday and then BAM! the hearing went and the vertigo hit again ARGH. I haven't been up to doing much but I got so sick of having bare nails I had to do some Easter nail art!! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to break out my pastel colours (not that I need any excuse too haha!) so here's my Easter manicure for you all. Please excuse my dry cuticles as I've been lazy to apply my cuticle creams and hand lotions.
Here's what I used:
Pinky: 1 coat of OPI Sparrow Me the Drama and 1 coat of China Glaze Empowerment. I then konaded diagonal design from Konad plate m65 using China Glaze Admire.
Ring finger: 3 coats of Face of Australia Lemon Sorbet. I then konaded the duck image from Konad plate s10 using Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Kook-a-Mango. I used a dotting tool from Born Pretty Store (review to come) to add a black dot for the eye.
Middle finger: 2 coats of Face of Australia Minty Mojito. I then used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and dotting tool from Born Pretty Store to add white dots.
Index finger: 2 coats of OPI What's With the Cattitude. I then used Essence french manicure and pedicure pen pearly rose tip painter to draw the zigzag lines and Kiss nail artist paint striper in black for the horizontal lines.
Thumb: 2 coats of Barry M Berry Ice-cream as base colour. For the freehanded bunny design, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the face and Kiss nail artist paint striper in white for the ears. I used Essence french manicure and pedicure pen pearly rose tip painter for the ears, nose and cheeks and a black creme with Born Pretty dotting tool for the eyes and white for the eye detail.
I asked D to not bother giving me any chocolate this year as I'm "trying" to cut back on my sugar intake but of course he didn't listen! Ahem you will notice that the packet of Cadbury creme eggs is already nearly half devoured before I even took the photo - I totally fail at resisting chocolate! xD Especially creme eggs OMG.
On another note, I've been included in a list of the Top 50 Chic Beauty Blogs which is so awesome!! I'm honoured to be in such great company.
I hope you are all having a happy and safe Easter weekend =) Let me know how you're spending your weekend!
