Easter nails: Cadbury Creme Egg manicure
So I am kind of obsessed with Cadbury Creme Eggs. They just taste so darn good and come Easter time I head straight for the store to get my yearly fix! Now that I'm older and wiser slightly more health conscious I limit myself to one bag of creme eggs only. As you know, I love doing themed/inspired/festive manicures and I have wanted to do a manicure inspired by my favourite Easter eggs since I started my blog. The problem was I always ate them all before I could do my mani! This year I restrained myself so here is my Cadbury Creme Egg manicure for you all!
Apologies in advance for the picture spam. I couldn't resist - I really enjoyed this mani! It might be a bit much for some but hey nail art to me should be FUN!

I used 2 coats of Models Own Pure Purple (a gorgeous dark purple creme gifted to me from Christina!) onto half of each nail. I alternated the positioning of the purple on each nail and then filled in the rest of each nail with OPI Red My Fortune Cookie using a nail art brush. I then used Kiss nail art paint striper in white to freehand a vertical line where the 2 colours met.
For the splatter/yolk, I dropped a large blob (such a technical word HAHA) of China Glaze Happy Go Lucky onto the middle of each nail and dragged it out quickly using a small dotting tool. I then added some random dots with the dotting tool around the splat.

Pure Purple is such a gorgeous shade however it's a blurple so it was ridiculously hard trying to capture the colour properly. It's a dark purple but isn't as dark as it looks in my pics.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...

What do you think? Does it remind you of Creme Eggs?

Another simple Christmas manicure
Hi ladies! Today I have another super simple Christmas manicure for you all. Instagram pics will have to suffice as I didn't get around to taking proper mani pics unfortunately. I had a few late nights in a row last week which totally interfered with my nail schedule!

For my pinky, I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia and added candy cane stripes using Kiss Nail Art striper in white. For ring fingers and thumbs, I used 2 coats of China Glaze Midnight Kiss (from last years CG holiday collection) and added a present nail decal to my ring finger. For my middle fingers I used 2 coats of China Glaze Glittering Garland which is such a gorgeous shimmery green! Lastly for my index finger I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia and added 1 coat of China Glaze Snow Globe.
Very simple to do but super fun and festive! I hope you're all having a wonderful start to the week!
Thanks for looking as always =)

Glittery snowflake manicure
Hi ladies! How have you all been? Please excuse the lack of posts this week. I've been super busy and just haven't been up for blogging much. Unfortunately my blogging mojo leaves me sometimes! As always I have so much to show you but so little time - I must time manage outside of work better next year! Today I have a quick snowflake manicure that I did very late last night. You can tell because I left such a huge gap between my cuticle and the nail bed but you can't really see it in my photos thankfully x)

I started off with 1 coat of Misa High Waist Hue as underwear to prevent staining. I then used 2 coats of China Glaze Blue Year's Eve which is a gorgeous sparkly dark blue polish. I stamped snowflakes from Konad plate m59 using Konad Special Polish in white and added a coat of China Glaze Snowglobe to top it all off for some glitter and sparkle.

Snowglobe is sooooooooooooooo awesome!! It's been on my wishlist FOREVER and I'm so glad they repromoted it xD Belowis a dodgy blurry photo I took I've purposely blurred it so you can see the gorgeous multicoloured glitter. You NEED SNOWGLOBE!!

I'm running out of time for Xmas manis doh! Are you rocking something festive on your nails today?

Simple Christmas manicure
Hi ladies! Here's my first Christmas manicure of the year which I did a few days ago. It's just very simple as I've just been so super busy! But what's new right??! All the polishes are from the China Glaze holiday collection which I look forward to the most every year. Oh how you do holiday collections so well China Glaze!!!!!!

For my pinky and index finger I used 2 coats of China Glaze Holly-Day. For accent finger I used 2 coats of China Glaze Midnight Kiss (from last years holiday collection) and 1 coat of China Glaze Twinkle Lights. For middle finger and thumb I used 2 coats of China Glaze Poinsettia.

Simple but festive and it took me less than 10 minutes to do =) What's not to love about Christmas!

Halloween manicure 2011
Happy Halloween ladies!! Here is my Halloween mani for 2011. Halloween is definitely getting a lot more popular here in Aus. The stores are filled with costumes, props etc and most importantly there's heaps of limited edition Halloween food products available eeeeeeeek! I'm such a sucker haha. Now I only started my mani at like 10:30pm last night so my mani was a very last minute job but I think it turned out ok! I hadn't really thought out my mani properly (usually I plan a day or 2 before!) so I sort of just hoped for the best x) Frankenstein looks a little angry and cross-eyed but oh well haha!

Here's what I used:

Pinky: I used 2 coats of Color Club Wild at Heart and added Pa pumpkin Halloween sticker and silver Essence nail art glitter mix star dazzling gifted to me by my dear Christina.
Ring finger: Frankenstein nail! I used 3 coats of Sinful Colors Mint Apple and used Kiss nail art striper in black and a small nail art brush for Frankenstein's hair and mouth. For the eyes I used 2 different sized dotting tools* from Born Pretty Store and OPI Alpine Snow and Ulta 3 Black Satin.
Middle finger: Spider nail! I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Cloud 9 as a base. I then freehanded the spider web using Kiss nail art striper in white and konaded spider design from Bundle Monster plate BM13 using Konad Special polish in black. Topped it off with a coat of my favourite China Glaze Fairy Dust!
Index finger: I used 2 coats of Ulta 3 Black Satin as a base and added a line of gold glitter down the middle using Art Deco striper in gold glitter. I then added Pa evil pumpkin and red ghost nail sticker and Essence nail art glitter mix silver star dazzling from Christina.
Thumb: Mummy nail! I used 3 coats of Color Club Who are you Wearing? as a base. I then used a small nail art brush to draw an oval using Kiss nail art striper in black and then used the striper to draw the lines. For the eyes I used 2 different sized dotting tools* from Born Pretty Store and OPI Alpine Snow and China Glaze Phat Santa.

How cute is this pumpkin lollipop! It was sent as part of a PR pack hehe

What do you think? What will you be rocking on your nails? If you're celebrating I hope you have a fabulous time!!

Harry Potter nails
Hi ladies!! I went to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 today and boy was it EPIC!! Everything and more I'd hoped for in the final installment of the movies. It was so emotional and of course I blubbered like a baby x) I'm so sad to see the end of an era as the Harry Potter series has been such a huge part of my life. I was 11 when The Philosopher's Stone came out and my Latin teacher introduced my class to the "Boy Who Lived" and it's been a journey along with Harry, Hermione and Ron ever since. Thank goodness I can read the books over and over again! I wanted some special nails to mark the occasion so here are my Harry Potter nails inspired by the Hogwarts house colours.

What I used:

Pinky: Ravenclaw (blue & bronze) - I used 2 coats of BYS Astro Gold (it's more a bronzey foil than gold) and then added a coat of OPI Blue Shatter *.
Ring finger: Slytherin (green & silver) - I used 2 coats of OPI Jade is the New Black and then added a Dark Mark inspired image from Bundle Monster plate BM-225 using China Glaze Millenium.
Middle finger: Hufflepuff (yellow & black) - I used 3 coats of China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and then stamped full diamond tartan design from Konad plate m60 using Konad Special Polish in black.
Index finger: Gryffindor (red & gold) - I used 2 coats of Flormar 358 and then stamped full diagonal line design from Bundle Monster plate BM20 using China Glaze Passion.
Thumb: I used 2 coats of Face Of Australia Gold* and then added a lightning bolt with a small brush using Ulta 3 Black Satin.

In case you're wondering, the Harry Potter wand was a gift from D who purchased it from Noble Collection. My mother knitted the Gryffindor scarf and the Harry Potter glases are 3D ones from Event Cinemas. My sister also has a Gryffindor tie and jumper too! xD

Event Cinemas George St have some official movie props on display until this Tuesday and it's worth checking out! They don't have too much but still well worth it for fans.
Clockwise from top: The Daily Prophet from Order of the Phoenix; Mafalda Hopkirk's Identity card from Deathly Hallows - Part 1; The Daily Prophet from Order of the Phoenix; Dark Arts Defence Basics for Beginners from Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore's wand:

Luna's dress and shoes that she wore to Professor Slughorn's party in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:

If you haven't seen the movie yet then what are you waiting for??!! Are you a Harry Potter fan?
Thanks for looking as always!

Royal wedding nails!
Unless you've been living under a rock I'm sure you know that the royal wedding is on today! I don't care too much about the royals (OK maybe I secretly do have a fascination with them) but I am such a hopeless romantic and I absolutely adore a good royal wedding. Weddings are such beautiful events and especially with all the pomp and ceremony it's such a show! Of course I had to do a mani to celebrate the wedding of the year!

I've wanted to do a Union Jack mani for ages so of course this was the perfect opportunity! My mani was a huge hit at work today which was a nice way to brighten up my day =) My British workmate ABSOLUTELY adored it and even took a pic to send home to friends and family which was awesome! xp
I started off with 1 coat of "underwear polish" in Icing Rebellious to prevent staining. I then applied 2 coats of Orly Royal Navy to all fingers except my ring finger.

For my ring finger I wanted to replicate the gorgeous engagement ring. I used 3 coats of Ulta 3 lily white as a base and used Born Pretty dotting tool to dot an oval using China Glaze Up All Night for the sapphire. I then applied silver rhinestones to replicate the diamonds.

For the Union Jack I used Kiss nail art paint striper in white to freehand the white lines and CM nail art striper in red glitter over the white.

I've recently discovered the joys of Instagram so here's a bonus pic which I tweeted last night. Follow me on Twitter for preview pics of my manis as I don't always post about them straight away ;)

Obviously royal weddings aren't for everyone but who doesn't love a fairytale love story?!! Off to watch the ceremony now!! Will you be watching?

Easter manicure
Hi ladies! HAPPY EASTER! Once again a lack of posts from me unfortunately as I'm still unwell - I felt fine until Wednesday and then BAM! the hearing went and the vertigo hit again ARGH. I haven't been up to doing much but I got so sick of having bare nails I had to do some Easter nail art!! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to break out my pastel colours (not that I need any excuse too haha!) so here's my Easter manicure for you all. Please excuse my dry cuticles as I've been lazy to apply my cuticle creams and hand lotions.

Here's what I used:

Pinky: 1 coat of OPI Sparrow Me the Drama and 1 coat of China Glaze Empowerment. I then konaded diagonal design from Konad plate m65 using China Glaze Admire.
Ring finger: 3 coats of Face of Australia Lemon Sorbet. I then konaded the duck image from Konad plate s10 using Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Kook-a-Mango. I used a dotting tool from Born Pretty Store (review to come) to add a black dot for the eye.
Middle finger: 2 coats of Face of Australia Minty Mojito. I then used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and dotting tool from Born Pretty Store to add white dots.
Index finger: 2 coats of OPI What's With the Cattitude. I then used Essence french manicure and pedicure pen pearly rose tip painter to draw the zigzag lines and Kiss nail artist paint striper in black for the horizontal lines.
Thumb: 2 coats of Barry M Berry Ice-cream as base colour. For the freehanded bunny design, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the face and Kiss nail artist paint striper in white for the ears. I used Essence french manicure and pedicure pen pearly rose tip painter for the ears, nose and cheeks and a black creme with Born Pretty dotting tool for the eyes and white for the eye detail.

I asked D to not bother giving me any chocolate this year as I'm "trying" to cut back on my sugar intake but of course he didn't listen! Ahem you will notice that the packet of Cadbury creme eggs is already nearly half devoured before I even took the photo - I totally fail at resisting chocolate! xD Especially creme eggs OMG.

On another note, I've been included in a list of the Top 50 Chic Beauty Blogs which is so awesome!! I'm honoured to be in such great company.
I hope you are all having a happy and safe Easter weekend =) Let me know how you're spending your weekend!

St Patrick's Day NOTD - Color Club Object of Envy
Hi ladies! Just a quick post to show you my green manicure today to get into the spirit of St Patrick's Day. I couldn't do any nail art so it's just a plain mani but still totally awesome (to me anyway!). When I received Color Club Object of Envy to try I knew I would have to save it to wear on St Patrick's Day!

Object of Envy is another super glittery polish from Color Club's Glitter Vixen collection. It's a gorgeous emerald green glitter that is just so blingy!! I love these glitters from the Glitter Vixen collection - the chunky glitter looks fantastic and they are so sparkly and pretty. I also find that they last longer than glitter polishes from other brands before chipping which is great.
Close-up:

The formula of Object of Envy was much better than Sexy Siren which I reviewed here. The formula is not as thick and therefore applies smoother and is much easier to handle. While there were some bald spots on the 1st coat, another 2 coats evened things out nicely and made it very opaque. It dried very quickly to a relatively smooth finish and I topped it off with a coat of Poshe topcoat. I think it's the perfect glittery green to celebrate St Patty's Day!

A big thank you to Rob from Color Club NZ for providing me with this polish to sample! I was sent the above product for my consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion.

Valentines Day manicure
Hi ladies! Just a super quick post to show you my very quick Valentines Day manicure. I've been very busy these last few days with work and social events so I haven't had a chance to do much blog stuff or blog reading unfortunately. Haven't really had time to do much including sleep x) I also went for a job interview on Saturday for a 2nd job and was offered the position on the spot! WOOT! They were desperate what can I say haha. It's a casual nurse position mainly for the weekends so with my current fulltime job I'll be working 6-7 days a week soon. This means much less leisure time but enables me to save up for things a lot sooner!
I'm not a big fan of Valentines Day as I think it's turned into such a cheesy holiday to give retailers an excuse to hawk unnecessary items to unwitting men and women in the name of "love". Love should be celebrated and appreciated EVERYDAY not just when Hallmark tells us too! It didn't stop me from still doing a Valentines mani or planning a nice Thai dinner tonight for me and the boy though lol. I was planning to do a soft, pinky manicure as the boy prefers my nails simple but as usual I got carried away!

I started off with 2 coats of Borghese Bellissima Rose. Bellissima Rose is a gorgeous dark berry pink almost red creme. It's a gorgeous colour! The brush was fantastic to use and meant I had very minimal cleanup. The polish is very opaque and 1 thick coat would be sufficient but I did 2. Dry time was good and the polish dried to a very glossy finish.

Close-up:

I then added heart nail stickers, rhinestones, half pearls and dazzlings to complete the look.

I hope you all have a lovely Valentines Day! Don't forget to enter My Big Birthday Giveaway!
