Illamasqua Destiny
The hubby and I went to watch Wicked on Friday night so I had to break out the green polish for the occasion! I saw Wicked with my sis when it was in Sydney a few years back but it was great to see it again. It's always nice to go out for a date night and especially as it'd been aaaaaaages since we'd been to a show. I didn't have time for nail art so what better than a gorgeous green glitter in the form of Illamasqua Destiny. It doesn't match the Wicked green but oh well!

Destiny was released about this time last year as an Australian exclusive shade for Chinese New Year that was available only at Myer (for those playing overseas Myer is a department store here). It contains fine and hex gold glitter in a dark green base and is wonderfully opaque. It's so opaque you could get away with just one even coat but I do 2 coats out of habit.
It dries super smoothly which is really surprising considering how packed with glitter it is. I love the depth of it and it's just gorgeous isn't it! 2 coats is pictured with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.

I'm trying to shop my stash at the moment as I haven't really been in the mood to buy polish much lately. No collections have really jumped out to me which my wallet is happy about!
Thanks for looking as always!

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Spring Racing 2014 collection - Pink a Card and Barracuda
Hellooooooo ladies!! It has been quite a while! I've been pretty sick over the last little while and I've taken on way too much (work, TAFE, salon) but anyhoo I'm posting again. It's finally Spring here in Aus which means it's time to break out the pretty dresses and pastels in preparation for the racing season. I've never been to the races myself but it's on the to do list! Today I have quick swatches of 2 shades from the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Spring Racing 2014 collection for you - Pink a Card and Barracuda. I really enjoyed last years Spring Racing collection so how did this years shades match up?

What they say:
"Seven Spring Racing inspired shades of premier polish. As the ultimate colour authority, Sally Hansen has always set the trends when it comes to nail shades. This season is no different – the latest Sally Hansen shades are perfect for as a spring racing fashion accessory and are designed to complement any outfit. From pretty pastels to chic neutrals these new shades of Complete Salon Manicure are sure to have you race-day-ready this spring."

Pink a Card is a pastel baby pink creme. Super soft and the perfect baby pink shade that will compliment any outfit. 3 coats is pictured below.

Barracuda is a pale baby blue creme. It was part of last years Spring Racing collection too and I'm glad it was re-released so I could try it out. 3 coats is pictured below.

Overall: Pink a Card and Barracuda are spot on for Spring! I love the Complete Manicure polishes as I love the brushes and there's something about the shape of the bottles that's really appealing. The formula on these were a little tricky to work with as they were on the streaky side and definitely require care when applying but they're worth it. I recommend doing thin coats to avoid streaking and allowing plenty of time to dry in between coats. Barracuda in particular was quite watery unfortunately but the end result is worth it. The shades dried quickly to a high gloss shine. Putting the shades side by side it's as though I'm doing a baby gender reveal or something ha!
Details: The Sally Hansen Spring Racing collection is available now for $9.95 (normal RRP is $14.95!)
from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Coles and select pharmacies nationally.

Thanks so much for looking and for keeping up with my totally erratic posting!
The products featured in this post were provided to me for consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion. My Disclosure Policy can be viewed here.

Chapstick All Things Sweet lipkit
These Chapstick All Things Sweet Lipkits have been lighting up Instagram lately and obviously I had to hunt them down for myself. I mean CAKE BATTER LIP BALM seriously. Oh yes.

The lip balms come in collectable tins and are available in 7 different cute designs inspired by sweets. My favourite is the lovehearts candy one! The tins are a great way to carry your balms in your handbag or to store small items like bobby pins.

There are 3 lipbalms included in each kit - Strawberry, Cake Batter and Pomegranate Gumdrop. The one I was most interested in was Cake Batter of course and it doesn't disappoint. It's vanilla-y and smells good enough to eat. Pomegranate Gumdrop doesn't really smell like pomegranate to me but it has a candy fruit scent to it however I'm not sure I'd buy it on it's own if it wasn't in the lip kit. I'm sure you've all used the Strawberry at some point and it's still sweet and fruity.

Overall: These are yummy and a must buy for the cuteness factor. They aren't the most moisturising lip balms but hey when they smell this yummy and you get change from $10 it doesn't really matter!
Details: The Chapstick All Things Sweet lipkits are available now from Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and Woolworths stores Australia wide for $8.99 and apparently they'll be available at Priceline soon too. For a full list of stockists head to the Chapstick Aus Facebook page.

OPI Damone Roberts 1968
OPI Damone Roberts 1968 is a shade I've wanted to own ever since I first started blogging. The limited edition polish was created in collaboration with US eyebrow king Damone Roberts and is one of the prettiest green polishes I've seen. Back then I wasn't as crazy about polish so I never got around to getting it as I couldn't justify the price + shipping. I even did a post to see if anyone wanted to do a group order to split the costs but no takers sadly. But when I found out he was re-releasing the polish this year for the last time I HAD to own it even though it was double the price it was in 2009. I didn't care!

What they say:
OPI's "Damone Roberts 1968" Nail Polish was created by OPI in 2009 to celebrate the brand...Damone Roberts. The color was matched directly from our Beverly Hills & New York Salon walls in an effort to bring the unique pistachio tone, described by Damone himself as "a different green with undertones of a soft grey, and a warm brown that works well on every skin tone".
The masses seem to agree, as the color has sold out worldwide twice now. This polish is quite the hot commodity and bottles presently can be found on Ebay retailing for $75.00 each. We are proud to announce that OPI & Damone have teamed up for the third time to bring you a limited collector item quantity available Summer 2014.

Source
Damone Roberts 1968 is a soft mint green and having finally worn it myself now I know why it's such a sought after shade and I am totally and utterly in love with it. For starters the formula is ABSOLUTE perfection. Oh man I'm talking glides-on-so-smoothly-I-could-cry kind of buttery perfection. The shade has a gorgeous softness to it that I love and I think it would work well with most skintones. It dries quickly and to a high gloss shine. 2 beautifully even coats is pictured below.

Close up:

Overall: OPI Damone Roberts 1968 definitely lives up to the hype and I love love LOVE this mint green. I can't believe I didn't purchase it years ago! It's pretty pricey though but I'm a sucker for limited edition shades so it was worth the wait and price for me. I'm just so happy I finally own a bottle! I also picked up a few back up bottles too x)
Details: Available from Damoneroberts.com and Damone Roberts salons in the US for $20US.
Is there a polish you've wanted for years that you've finally had the chance to own? There are so many more on my list but baby steps to tick off the wishlist! Don't forget to enter my 4th blogivesary China Glaze Surprise collection giveaway!
