Ameli cosmetics from Vanity Box swatches and review

A while ago I was contacted by Aussie online store Vanity Box to try out some Ameli cosmetics and some gorgeous Korean accessories. Today I have my review of the Ameli cosmetics for you! I'll be showing you the Ameli eyeshadow in Dress Killer, Plat Lips in Nude Beige and Blush Luminizer in Ivory.

Ameli Eyeshadow in Dress Killer ($15.60):

"What happens when you mix purple and pink? You get a blend that oozes beauty and elegance aptly named Dress Killer. This luxurious lilac shade comes with subtle shimmer and evenly gradates. Apply it as an eyeshadow or blush. A creamy soft texture means it’ll glide easily for smooth application. Stays true to colour long after applied and is crease resistant.

The Ameli eyeshadows are packaged in a sleek looking plastic silver case with a clear insert in the top. It comes in a MASSIVE 4g size! For comparison, MAC shadows are 1.5g and Illamasqua shadows are 2g. That's a whole lot more product for a fraction of the cost! ;)

Dress Killer is a gorgeous pinky purple and it is a perfect girly colour! You know I love shades like this! It's not super pigmented even with a primer but it gives a lovely sheer shimmery wash of colour. It's a very work appropriate colour and because it's on the sheer side it's great for when I'm rushing out the door as it's absolutely foolproof to apply. It lasts all day when I use it with a primer which is great. You can also use Dress Killer as a blush and I love that there are so many shades available from nudes and pinks to olive and orange.

Ameli Plat Lips in #100 Nude Beige ($9.50):

What they say:

"Nude Beige is a lovely shade of cool coral pink and beige. This is an easy to use lip colour, an excellent complement to both a smokey or natural look. Nude Beige contains high shine polymer for an intense, lasting colour and emmolient oil to ensure a smooth application."

The Plat Lips comes in a cute clear flip top packaging and contains 3.3g of product.

I'd describe Nude Beige as a pinky beige colour that comes out quite orangey on me. It's a pretty decent "concealer lips" shade but would work better on those whose lips aren't as pigmented as mine. The formula of the Phat Lips range is most similar to a matte lipstick but packaged in a lip balm form. Unfortunately it's VERY drying so it's a little hard to apply. I'd suggest applying lip balm first before applying it or it will sink into your lip lines.

Ameli Blush Luminizer in #01 Ivory ($19.50):

"Bring out the glow on your face with Ameli’s Ivory Highlighter. This soft silky texture has a slight ivory shimmer that will add radiance to your complexion. Perfect for enhancing your natural facial contour through illumination and reduction of dullness and shadows in your appearance. The Sebum control powder within provides a longer lasting effect."

It comes packaged in a sleek dark silver compact with a mirror and contains 6.5g of product.

Ameli Luminizer in Ivory is a pretty ivory powder highlighter/illuminator. The texture is very smooth and it gives a really nice glow with some shimmer! I use it to lightly highlight my cheekbones instead of as an allover illuminating powder as it contains quite a bit of shimmer and you don't want to end up looking too shiny! A light dust over the cheekbones is all you need for a lovely glow.

Overall: I enjoyed using the products! My favourite has to be the Ameli Eyeshadow in Dress Killer - it's such a pretty shade! Unfortunately the Plat Lips was too drying for my liking, however it can be fixed with some lip balm underneath and some gloss over the top. I really liked the Blush Illuminizer and it's great to use when I'm in a rush as it's a powder. It's a no fuss way of giving my face a nice glow without the hassle that comes with liquid highlighters!
