Pink and gold glitter half moon manicure

Some quick nail art for you today! I saw this gorgeous half moon mani by Sam from A Curiousity last week on Instagram and decided to give it a go myself on the weekend. It's such a sweet combo!

 photo IMG_7453copy_zps623db9fa.png

I used 2 coats of Hello Darling Sugar & Spice and I freehanded the half moons using a striper brush and Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Golden Rule. It's definitely not the neatest half moons but hey glitter hides a thousand sins!!

Bourjois So Laque! Ultra Shine Rose Lounge

Happy Sunday!! Gah can you believe the weekend is over already?!! It was such a beautiful weekend and I am really dreading going back to the drudgery of work =( On Monday's I like to wear particularly bright shades as my protest to it being Monday but sometimes I like a good palette cleanser and Bourjois So Laque! Ultra Shine in Rose Lounge is the perfect shade for it. It also makes a great wedding shade too - Kate Middleton wore it for her wedding 2 years ago!

 photo IMG_6915copy_zpsb29f09b1.png

What they say:

"So Laque Ultra Shine, the new revamped version of So Laque. Twice the Vinyl for intensely lacquered nails with maximum shine!

The formula is enriched with twice as much vinyl and a blend of highly reflective resins for nails with incredible shine. So Laque Ultra Shine, a long-lasting hold for up to 7 days.. a range of pure, lacquered shades with no sparkles or shimmer, for smooth, radiant colour on nails."

 photo IMG_6931copy_zpsbe95a2e8.png

Rose Lounge is a very pretty sheer, milky pink. I love sheer pinks but it's hard to find one that doesn't streak and applies easily. Rose Lounge surprised me and ticked both those boxes!! It applied easily and the wide brush was great to use. I used 3 thin coats which is pictured and you can still see some VNL but I left it at 3 as I didn't want it to become too thick. It dried quickly even though I used 3 coats and dried to a high gloss finish. I can see why it's a popular shade!!

Details: Bourjois So Laque! Ultra Shine polishes are available from Target, Priceline, Priceline online store and selected Myer stores and pharmacies Australia wide for $12.

I really enjoyed using Rose Lounge so I'll definitely be checking out other shades in the So Laque! range!! Any shades you'd recommend? Thanks for looking as always!! =)

 photo IMG_4946copy_zps4970ee9e.png

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sorbet swatches and review

I absolutely LOVE my Revlon Lip Butters so I was sooooooo excited when I spotted their new Pacific Coast collection by Gucci Westman in store which includes four gorgeous new Lip Butter shades - Wild Watermelon, Juicy Papaya, Pink Lemonade and Sorbet!!! Of course I wanted them all but even with the Chemist Warehouse 50% off sale I still limited myself to just one xp I'm trying to be good! Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade are rather sheer so I ended up purchasing the gorgeous Sorbet.

The Lip Butters are packaged in the cute ColorBurst quilted design with a coloured case and clear top insert making it easy to see the shades. I love seeing my colourful collection in my lippie stash!!

 photo IMG_69472copy_zpsaffbe06e.png

If you've been reading my blog for a while you know I love the whole lipstick/lip balm formula which is why I adore these! The formula feels like a lip balm but packs some colour and are really moisturising as they contain mango, shea and coconut butter.

 photo IMG_6949copy_zps553e9237.png

Sorbet is a gorgeous bright cool toned fuchsia pink and gives a sheer to medium coverage that's buildable. I'm always drawn to shades like this especially for the warmer months and it's very quickly become my favourite shade!! I think I've worn it everyday since I bought it haha. Lip Butters don't tend to last all that long on me but I get about 3hours wear from Sorbet and it leaves a slight stain.

Bio Sculpture Hot Pink and Brigitte swatches and review

Hi ladies! Today I'm sharing swatches from Bio Sculpture which is a brand I haven't tried before! I always love trying new brands so I was excited to try them out. When I think Bio Sculpture I think gel polish but they also do normal polishes as well! I have two pretty Spring shades to show you - Hot Pink and Brigitte.

 photo IMG_6492copy_zps58f0aecc.png

Hot Pink is a beautiful glossy bright bombshell Barbie pink. I love love LOVE these types of pinks! Bright and in your face. 3 coats is pictured.

 photo IMG_6368copy_zpsc4da2267.png
 photo IMG_6366copy_zpsaec6aea5.png

Brigitte is a gorgeous pastel banana yellow creme from their Spring/Summer 2014 Hollywood collection which is inspired by 1950s movie stars. This just absolutely SCREAMS Spring to me!!! 4 coats is pictured.

 photo IMG_6337copy_zpsf29d2ab6.png
 photo IMG_6338copy_zps5e0b1efd.png

Overall: Hot Pink and Brigitte are perfect shades for Spring/Summer and the high gloss finish is fantastic! Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with the formula and the brush. The formula of Brigitte is very thin and I had to use 4 coats for full opacity which is just too many coats for me although I adore this shade of yellow. Considering I had to use 4 coats dry time was quite reasonable though. Because of the thin formula, it made application really difficult and I had to redo my swatches for Brigitte twice. The formula of Hot Pink is more opaque but it's still on the thin side. The brush (see pic below) is flat and straight which I found difficult to control to get a clean finish. Hopefully it's just these lighter shades that have a disappointing formula as the shades are gorgeous!

Details: Bio Sculpture polishes are available from salons for $19.95. For more info and to find your nearest salon, contact 1300 BIO GEL (1300 246 435) or visit www.biosculpture.com.au.

Beginners nail art class at Work-Shop

Hi ladies!! I can't believe it's taken me so terribly long to get my act together to post this but last month I had the pleasure of teaching a beginners nail art class at Work-Shop in Sydney. Work- Shop are based in Broadway, Sydney and run affordable fun short courses in arts and crafts and life skills. They run courses like tea appreciation, yoga, magic and street art! I was so nervous beforehand but once I got into the swing of things it was all good! Seriously I love talking nails ;)

 photo Work-Shopcopy_zps6528026f.png

The setup for each person! The nail polishes and remover were very kindly provided by Face of Australia which everyone was so appreciative of! It's always fun playing with someone else's polishes haha. A huge thank you to Camilla for helping me set up beforehand!!

 photo IMG_7968copy_zps459a6929.png

I taught 3 basic nail art techniques on the night - dots, glitter gradient and sponged ombre - and then showed how easy it was to adapt them for more complicated designs.

 photo IMG_0771copy_zpsd0ceb8b4.png

I don't think I make the best teacher but everyone tried it all out and seemed like they were having loads of fun!

Ladies showing off their fab nail art at the end of the class!! Thank you to everyone that came!

 photo IMG_7981copy_zpsa553be01.png

I'm teaching another beginner's nail art class next Monday 23rd September and tickets are still available! If you fancy learing some nail art with me, head to the Work-Shop site for full details and to book.

Hope to see you there! =)

 photo IMG_4969copy_zps47a23afb.png

I don't own any glitters like this so I'm pretty stoked to add to to my collection! I love the colour combination of Peridot Power - it'd be perfect for a more classy Australia Day mani x) 2 coats is pictured over 2 coats Kester Black Moss. Excuse the wrinkled fingers oops! Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Parrot

Hellooooooooo ladies!! I hope you're all having a good start to the week. I'm getting my blogging mojo back so expect more regular posting from me! I've been making regular trips to Chemist Warehouse lately to buy supplies because I stupidly burnt myself and of course I can't go past the (often random!) beauty bargains that they have there. One of the bargains I came across was the gorgeous Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Parrot which was only $5!!! It's from the Sally Hansen for Tracey Reese Spring collection from last year which I don't think has ever actually been released here in Aus.

 photo IMG_6425copy_zps8f68172e.png

Parrot is a beautiful grass green creme. Isn't it gorgeous and Spring-ish!! It applied really well and is pretty pigmented and dries to a glossy finish. I think it'd make for a nice green apple manicure! 3 coats is pictured and I had to add a coat of Seche Vite to smooth over a dent lol.

Close up:

 photo IMG_6436copy_zps1d3816c3.png

Details: I bought it for $5 from Chemist Warehouse but it was the last bottle at the store I went to and I haven't seen them at any other Chemist Warehouse stores unfortunately! Best to do a hunt ;) They had a few other shades from the collection but Parrot looked the most interesting.

My blue and green collection is growing nicely now!! What are some of your favourite green polishes? Thanks for looking as always! =)

Kester Black Winter Garden collection swatches and review

Hi ladies! A few weeks back Anna from Aussie brand Kester Black very kindly got in touch to see if I would like to try out her polishes. I've been admiring her polishes for quite some time having come across the brand from seeing the polishes used by Trophy Wife Nail Art so I was super super excited to try them out! Today I'm very excited to (finally!) share with you my swatches and review of the gorgeous Winter Garden collection. It's taken me sooooooo long to swatch all the polishes unfortunately but I'm finally done! The lighting in my pics varies because I had to swatch the collection over quite a few days.

Kester Black polishes are 5 Free which means that they're free of Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde, Formeheldyde Resin and Camphor. They're also carcinogen free so are safe for chemotherapy patients, expectant mothers and children.
