Clinique Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange swatches and review

When I first heard that Clinique were releasing 8 new shades to their hugely popular Chubby Stick range I nearly fainted with excitement. They are one of my absolute favourite lip products!!!! I absolutely adore these little chubby sticks of colourful goodness and I own nearly all the original shades (you can peep some swatches here). The new shades include some gorgeous shades that are just as cute as the original collection and they are released TODAY!! I have my swatches of one of the shades Oversized Orange for you today!

What they say:

"Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm is Clinique’s #1 lip product worldwide. To chubbify the Chubby Stick craze, Clinique is introducing 8 new mouthwatering hues with stay-true colour and buildable coverage ranging in shades from oranges to pinks to fuchsias and violets. Have a little colour or a lot with: Heaping Hazelnut, Bountiful Blush, Two Ton Tomato, Oversized Orange, Mighty Mimosa, Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony and Voluptuous Violet.

They are packaged in the same chunky twist up crayon and have the same moisturising formula that contains Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil. You can read my full review of the Chubby Sticks here.

Oversized Orange is a wonderfully summery tangerine shade with slight shimmer through it. It looks alarmingly bright in the tube but like the other Chubby Sticks apply quite sheer. It's a fantastic way to try brighter shades without being too in your face.

Swatch:

My lips are quite pigmented so orangey shades tend to lean very pink on me.

A minimal makeup FOTD using Clinique Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange:

Overall: I am madly in love with Clinque Chubby Sticks and I adore Oversized Orange just like I do my others! Oversized Orange is a fun shade and perfect for the warmer months. I especially love wearing my Chubby Sticks to work as I don't want something too bright so these give the perfect hint of colour and stay power is good so there's no need to reapply all the time which is great. I really enjoy the balm texture of the Chubby Sticks and I find them very moisturising - they feel wonderful on the lips. Love love love these!

I am absolutely dying to go instore to swatch the other 7 shades! I can see myself picking up a few others.. not that I need more lip products haha!

Details: The Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balms are available in 8 NEW shades from today July 29th 2012 at Clinique counters nationwide and online at www.clinique.com.au for $35.

They are available for purchase in the US from www.clinique.com for $16US and in Hong Kong from www.clinique.com.hk and Clinique counters for $130HK.

Will you be heading instore to check out the new shades? Thanks for looking as always!

Review and swatches: Arbonne Lip Polish in Coral

Hi ladies! I have another lovely Arbonne product for you today - this time it's their Lip Polish in Coral. Before I discovered the joys of lipstick I only really wore lip glosses exclusively so I'm always very excited to try out a new gloss!

What they say:

"Arbonne’s Lip Polish is a fun and sexy lip product for women who are after superior shine, without the unwanted stickiness. Each shade of Lip Polish glides on with ease, and leave lips feeling silky and smooth. With 7 available shades, there is an ideal colour for every occasion.

Suitable for all skin tips, the Lip Polish can be worn day or night for the perfect lip shine."

Coral is a dark coral shade with a hint of shimmer. As it's Spring right now in Aus I am getting right into my coral shades! Coral is a very pigmented and is very glossy. The Lip Polishes are packaged with the same sleek dark brown Arbonne packaging which I really like it as it looks so stylish! I prefer using glosses with sponge applicators and the lip polishes have a clear wand with a sponge applicator.

Swatches:

Overall: Arbonne Lip Polish in Coral is a gorgeous gloss. It feels fantastic on the lips without a trace of stickiness (I HATE sticky glosses!) and feels smooth and moisturising on the lips. The coral colour is perfect for the warmer months and I think a very flattering colour for most ladies. It's very glossy and pigmented which is great! The sleek packaging is a major plus too. Wear time is quite reasonable I found - about 2-3 hours on me before I have to reapply.

The only negative I have is the price. $36 for a lip gloss is a little pricey in my book but I haven't really seen many coral lip glosses around so it'd definitely be a gloss to check out.

Details: Arbonne Lip Polishes are available in 7 shades from the Aus Arbonne International online store for $36.

I'm very interested in trying the other shades now! Have you tried the Arbonne Lip Polishes before?

Thanks for looking as always ladies!

For international ladies, they can be purchased from the US Arbonne International online store for $22US and the UK Arbonne International online store for £17.00.

Clinique Great lips, Great cause Mini Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 swatches and review

Hi ladies! Continuing with the Breast Cancer Awareness month products, I have for you today some quick swatches of the limited edition Clinique Great lips, Great cause Mini Long Last Glosswear SPF 15. I am such a sucker for pretty key rings so how could I resist purchasing it?? Plus it's for a great cause =)

What they say:

"Treat your lips to glistening, juiced-up colour and help a great cause too! $5.00 from your purchase helps support The National Breast Cancer Foundation. Our limited-edition Long Last Glosswear SPF15 trio of minis in Air Kiss, Clearly Pink and Cabana Crush 1ml on a keychain come with a Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon Key ring."

The key ring features a pink heart shaped ribbon charm that is a mirror on the reverse side, a Clinique "C" charm and three mini-Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 glosses. It's a VERY sturdy key ring and I nearly broke a few fingernails trying to get my keys on it!

The three mini Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 are Clearly Pink, Air Kiss and Cabana Crush. These colours are permanent colours in the Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 range and are very flattering shades.

From top - bottom: Clinique Clearly Pink, Air Kiss and Cabana Crush.

Cabana Crush is a medium pink with gorgeous gold shimmer through it; Air Kiss is a pretty peachy pink with subtle shimmer and an old favourite of mine - it was one of my very first Clinique glosses I owned many years ago! - and Clearly Pink is a clear light pink gloss.

From L - R: Clinique Cabana Crush, Air Kiss and Clearly Pink.

Overall: I love this cute key ring! I never have to worry about being without lip products when I'm out and about again which is great! The Long Last Glosswears are somewhat sticky in texture but are SUPER glossy which is what I like about them. They wear for a considerable time on me also. The colours they've included in this trio are very flattering and girlie too!

Details: Clinique will donate $5 per product from the sale of each Clinique Great lips, Great cause Mini Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It is available exclusively online from www.clinique.com.au for a limited time for $35.

Unfortunately I believe it's no longer available (oh the downfall of LE products doh!) but you can win your very own in my Pink for October giveaway here along with other pink products! For more Breast Cancer Awareness products for 2011 check out my post here.

Have you tried the Clinique Long Last Glosswears? What do you think?

Thanks for looking as always ladies!

Clinique Milly Pretty in Prints Palette - Swatches and Review

When it comes to makeup I am a neutrals and pink kinda gal - I just love the simplicity and ease of a neutral eye with a pretty pop of pink for lips and cheeks. Any palette that can accommodate my 2 favourite looks will always get my interest so I was very excited to try out the Clinique Milly Pretty in Prints Palette and Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Milly Pink. I was lucky enough to receive this when I got a sneak peek of upcoming Clinique products a few months back. I know it's Winter here in Aus but who can resist a pretty Spring palette with sweet colours in this freezing cold?? I've been using the palette regularly since I received it and I have to say from the start that I LOVE IT!

Photobucket

What they say:

Clinique's collaboration with the international fashion label Milly created a must have spring makeup collection. Michelle Smith, renowned design of the women's fashion and accessories line, played a pivotal role in developing the limited-edition makeup collection of essential eye, cheek and lip colours for Spring 2011. The rich brown and sweet pink makeup palette is adorned with a signature Milly pattern that is housed in a custom patterned pouch.

Now I have to admit that I had no clue about the brand Milly or who Michelle Smith was until I laid eyes on this gorgeous palette but oh boy am I coveting her designs now! Her designs are flirty, fun and feminine - something Smith associates with Clinique. Smith describes her collaboration with Clinique as a natural one having used the products since she was 12 and in this collaboration brings us two gorgeous limited edition Spring items.

Pretty in Prints Compact:

Photobucket

The sleek silver compact is adorned with the signature Milly print and contains a Limited Edition Color Surge Eye Shadow Quad in Printed Pinks paired with Blushing Blush in Precious Posy. It comes in a very cute custom patterned pouch (seen in my first picture) which makes it great for taking with you on the go.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The shadows are pigmented and are very easy to blend just like other Clinique Colour Surge eye shadows I own. And when I say they're easy to blend they definitely are because I suck at blending! I don't think the colours are new to Clinique as the shimmery brown and pink look familiar to colours found in the Like Mink and Strawberry Fudge Colour Surge duos but are very pretty nonetheless. Precious Posy blush is quite pigmented and is just beautiful. It gives the perfect pop of peachy pink to my cheeks.

Photobucket
Swatches of the eye shadows. Apologies for no blush swatch!

Full face:

Photobucket

The palette even comes with a handy instruction card on how/where to apply the products which is very helpful for eyeshadow newbies like yours truly!

Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Limited Edition Milly Pink:

Photobucket

Milly Pink is a warm-toned melon shade which makes its debut in Clinique's signature lip gloss formula. I am such a sucker for pink so you know I love Milly Pink! It gives me just the right amount of pink to my lips and is seriously THE perfect pink gloss!! I used to use the Long Last Glosswear's quite a lot before I discovered lipstick and other brands so it's reassuring to return to the same great formula and gorgeous shine.

Photobucket

Overall: I absolutely love LOVE the palette and gloss. Can I say it anymore? Neutrals + pinks are a definite winner in my book and especially when housed in a cute palette and pouch! I love the Colour Surge eye shadows and the Printed Pinks Quad does not disappoint in any way. Milly Pink gloss is just gorgeous and yes the PERFECT pink gloss.

I know some of you ladies will find these colours a bit safe or boring but I think the colours are a must in everyone's collection. The colours are appropriate for all seasons in my opinion which is fantastic. I love the fact you can create different looks with the one handy compact which is great for travelling. I took these with me when I went on holiday to HK last month and they served me very well! The palette would be best for those wanting a conservative look or for those just starting to get into makeup or those who just love neutrals!

I adore this palette and my only complaint is why oh WHY do things I love have to be Limited Edition??!!

Details: The Clinique Pretty in Prints Compact retails for $70 and Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Milly Pink is $35. Both are available from Clinique counters Australia wide from June 26 - July 10 2011. Hurry before stocks run out!!

Unfortunately for international ladies the palette has already been released and therefore no longer available.

Face of Australia Divine Shine Lip Plumper

I love trying new lipglosses so I was very excited to try the Divine Shine Lip Plumper from Aussie brand Face of Australia which they kindly sent me in an awesome care package last week. I have so many lipglosses in my makeup stash yet I still always buy them x)

Face of Australia Divine Shine Lip Plumper

What they say:

"The ultra shiny, moisturising Lip Plumper utilises the incredible properties of ginger, cinnamon and menthol to deliver an amazing plumping effect."

It comes in 2 shades - a cute red/pink called Sterling Blossom and a warm bronze called Lavish Instinct which I have for you today.

Photobucket

Product:

The lipgloss comes with a sponge applicator and is very moisturising. The formula isn't sticky at all (something I really hate) and Lavish Instinct gives me lovely warm rosy lips. I didn't notice a huge plumping effect but I did find it smoothed my lips and gave them a slightly fuller effect. When you first apply it you get a lovely tingling and cooling sensation due to the menthol it contains. The smell takes some getting use to as it contains cinnamon and ginger but it's quite pleasant.

Photobucket

I used it for a very natural Face of the Day (FOTD) a few days ago:

Photobucket

Products I used:
Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer in green
Skin79 Super Plus BB cream
Benefit Ooh La Lift
Make Up For Ever Super Matte Loose Powder in 18
Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon
Eyeko Graffiti eyeliner pen black
Australis Lash TLC mascara in Blackest Black
Face of Australia Divine Shine Lip Plumper in Lavish Instincts

Would I repurchase?: I really enjoy using Divine Shine Lip Plumper however I very rarely repurchase lipgloss colours as I always want to try new ranges and colours! I would repurchase this in Sterling Blossom however as I love pinks and the formula is wonderful.

Face of Australia Divine Shine Lip Plumper can be purchased from Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies Australia wide for $10.95.

A big thank you to Face of Australia for sending me the above product to sample! I was sent the above product for my consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion.

Swap with Monika from Penguin Puranki

Hi ladies! How is everyone enjoying their weekend? I hope it's been a fun weekend for you all! I've been busy trying to organise loads of things these last few days and I have a very hectic few weeks/months coming up!! My house renovations are nearly finished and my family and I will be moving back home in around a month. This wouldn't be such a huge problem but I hate moving with a passion! Plus, uni is on me once again and this subject looks HARD and coupled with full time work means I won't be able to post as much for the next 2 months or so =( But don't worry, I'll try and squeeze in a post here and there until all the madness is over ;)

I am a little late unfortunately in posting my last swap which I completed with the very sweet Monika from Penguin Puranki . The package took a little while getting to me but it was SO worth the wait! The package really cheered me up when I most needed when it arrived mid last week, thank you for making my week Monika =)

Photobucket

Monika sent me some FANTASTIC Swiss goodies to play with!! Here are some piccies of the fantastic polishes she sent my way!

Photobucket

From L - R:
MNY polishes in 749, 657 and 109A. Monika tells me that MNY polishes are only available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland so how lucky am I that she grabbed some for me! =D The blue looks sooooo awesome!

Photobucket

From L - R:
Essence Nail Art Twins in Carrie and Clyde, Essence Multi Dimension 3 in 1 polish in The One and Only and Essence Colour & Go polish in Check Me Out. More Essence polishes to add to my collection yay!

Photobucket

From L - R:
H & M Hello Kitty polish in Cool Summer, Claire's 3 in 1 Mixable polish and Nivea Calcium Power polish in Currant. I nearly died when I saw the H & M Hello Kitty!!! The Claire's 3 in 1 Mixable looks so interesting and am wondering how to use it properly.. does anyone have one and can share how to use it?? I also never knew Nivea made nail polishes but apparently they do in Europe! Monika did a great review of the colour Candyfloss here.

Photobucket

Top - bottom:
Essence Eclipse lipglosses in Lunch at Cullen's, Ready to be Bitten and Undead?. Monika very kindly hunted these down for me, thank you so much for fulfilling my lemming for them!!

Photobucket

Monika also very kindly included some extras for me! These included I am papaya and guava hand creme, Essence French Glam stickers and sweet cherry nail file. The hand creme is made in Switzerland and it smells absolutely DIVINE. It's papaya and guava scent (guava is my favourite fuit) and I could literally eat the tube, it just smells sooooooo darn good. The cherry nail file smells pretty yummy too =p

Photobucket

She also included a tin of Lindt chocolate, YAY!! I love Lindt and the tin is just too cute =) Plus it's extra special because it came all the way from Switzerland! Haha I'm a bit lame like that =p

Thank you so much for this fantastic swap Monika! Please check out her blog Penguin Puranki and show her some support! She does great reviews on Japanese products and also does some lovely gel nail designs.

Shiseido swatches

How has everyone's weekend been? I hope the American ladies are enjoying their 4th of July long weekend! Here are swatches of the Shiseido lippies I got from my Shiseido Warehouse sale haul as requested. Unfortunately I don't have a swatch of SL 1 for you as I'm giving this lippie to my aunty. The lippies applied nice and smoothly and feel very moisturising. The colours are very pretty too!

Shimmering lipstick in SL 5 - pretty pink lipstick with silver shimmer. It gives a really nice hint of pink to the lips, great for times when you don't want to be overly girly.

Photobucket

Shiseido SL 5

Shimmering lipstick in SL 12 - a peachy pink lipstick with golden shimmer.

Photobucket

Shiseido SL 12

G 28 Polished Pearl lipgloss - is a clear gloss with loads of silver shimmer. On the lips though, not much glitter actually shows up even if you put lots of it on so this would be best layered on top of a lippie. The gloss wasn't sticky at all which is a must for me!

Photobucket

I had something weird with my my tube though as the gloss separated after I used it. Maybe it's a little old..? Anyone have this happen to them before?

Photobucket

I'll leave you with some pics of some delicious cupcakes I got from Cupcakes on Pitt. MMMMMMM! They were demolished soon after I took this photo lol.

Thanks for looking! =)

My favourite truffles and Shiseido warehouse sale

I have a major sweet tooth. There is absolutely no denying the fact! I love sweets (or candy depending where you're from) be it gummy or caramels or lollipops or hard candy or chocolate and I love international sweets. You seriously cannot leave me with an open pack of lollies as they will be gone within a matter of minutes. I especially love truffles =) One of my favourites are the lime truffles from Adora Handmade chocolates.

Photobucket
Love the purple packaging!

I've never actually been to their store as my wonderful bf kindly gifts me with them (on rare occasions only) and it's probably a good thing because I would probably have to buy one of everything in the store! The boy works very close to their Bligh St store and he picked these up for me yesterday as he had to work in the morning. YAY!

Lime truffles

These lime truffles are described as "a burst of lime white chocolate covered with roasted coconut" and they taste soooooooooooooo good. I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate - I prefer dark - but these are fantastic!

Lime truffles
Delicious centre! Please excuse the crappy lighting.

So after the boy finished work we went on our annual excursion to the Supanova pop culture convention at Olympic Park and I stumbled across the Shiseido warehouse sale. I picked up a few items for myself and my mum and aunty. This has got to be the worst I have ever been at sticking to a shopping ban LOL. I blame end of financial year sales!! Plus I am an absolute sucker for warehouse sales, I am one of those girls who will line up 2hours early to grab a bargain ;) Pictured below is what I bought for myself.

Photobucket

I'm a Shiseido noob so I thought this was the perfect time to try them out at a fraction of the cost! I went late in afternoon just before they closed so didn't get much time to browse through everything. It was a pretty darn good warehouse sale! Prices started at $5 and there were tons of lip products to choose from; HEAPS of very heavily discounted skincare products; some eyeliners and shadows and foundations and powders. If I was a devotee of Shiseido I would have gone nuts like other women there who were buying LOADS of stuff - literally bucketfuls of stuff. I limited myself to some lippies, a lipgloss, a lipliner and White Lucent brightening set. I also picked up 1 or 2 items that I may use for a future giveaway ;)

Shiseido White Lucent Immediate Brightening Set:

Shiseido White Lucent brightening set

This came with a 15ml tube of the Concentrated Brightening Serum and also 3 sheets of the Intensive Brightening Mask.

Shiseido Lip liner pencil in no.9 Red Rouge:

Shiseido lip liner red rouge

Nice smooth red lipliner to use with my NYX lippie in Snow White!

Shiseido Lipgloss in G28 Polished Pearl:

Shiseido lip gloss G28

Really pretty clear gloss loaded with heaps of silver shimmer. The sales girl said she uses it to add shimmer to eye makeup too which I will have to try!

Shiseido Shimmering Lipstick in SL 1, SL 12 and SL 5:

Shiseido shimmering lipsticks

SL 1 is a nude colour and SL 12 is a coral-y colour and SL 5 (lying down) is a really pretty pink. I can't wait to try these out!

SL 5 didn't come in a box and only came with a plastic lid as I believe it's a brand new tester because it's got a plastic thingy on the bottom with the shade. No biggie but kinda annoying to cart around as you can see below. Will just have to swap the lip from the others I guess!

Photobucket

Hopefully I'll get time to try these out soon. What do you ladies recommend from Shiseido?

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and has a great start to the week! Don't forget to enter my giveaway HERE!
