piCture pOlish Pandora
No Aussie nail art this year for Australia Day unfortunately so instead I have some quick swatches from an Aussie brand for you. piCture pOlish Pandora is a beautiful deep purple scattered holographic that applies beautifully to a glossy finish. There is something special about the combination of purple and holo! You really can't go wrong with this combo. 2 coats is pictured with no top coat.

piCture pOlish collaboration shades: douceur, geode, jasmine and imperial swatches
HELLOOOOOOOO ladies!! Hope you've all been well! It's been nice to take a bit of a break from the blog and also polishing to catch up on some personal stuff. Then I realised it's March already and I only have 6 posts for the year haha! Oops x) I thought I'd ease back into the regular posting thing by showing you some piCture pOlish spam with some gorgeous collaboration shades that were released last year.

douceur by Tartofraises was created by Ophelie and inspired by her love of all things sweet and jelly. It's a french pink jelly with multi-sized hex glitter in a magenta and mulberry base with some scattered holo shimmer through it. Douceur means "sweetness" in French which is a very fitting name for this cute shade! I love the delicate pink base and the mix of glitters!! Very very sweet and feminine. 3 coats is pictured.

Close up:

geode by Every Sensory was created by Ami and inspired by Geode which are magic eggs made of crystal. It's an egg shell blue with different sized royal blue, sea blue and gold hex glitters with some tiny holo shimmer through it. 3 coats is pictured.

Close up:

Jasmine by The Trace Face Files was created by Traci and named after her beloved pet that passed away. It's a lavender creme full of green, silver and purple square and hex glitters. Another really sweet shade and 3 coats is pictured.

Close up:

Imperial by The Swatchaholic was created by Jeanette and inspired by her love of purple and the piCture pOlish signature holo shimmer! It's a majestic purple with scattered holo with blue glass flecks and a scattering of small gold hex glitters. 3 coats is pictured.

piCture pOlish Siren Song by Rebecca Likes Nails
Happy New Year everyone!! Can you believe it's 2014 already??!! EEEEEEK! Time is flying by way too darn fast =( Just some quick swatches today of a gorgeous collaboration shade from piCture pOlish created with the lovely Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails. I am a huge fan of her blog - her swatches are so beautiful!!

What the say:
Inspiration: An electric guitar with shades of mint and silver within its make up!
Siren Song is a stunning combination of mint green and silver particles melded together to form a metallic textured shade that just glides on your nail with a totally sparkling finish!

Siren Song is a beautiful sea foam green with large silver shimmer through it. I'm always drawn to mint greens like this and I love the shimmer in Siren Song. The shimmer is quite large giving it a nice sparkle but it's not too in your face. Application was great and it dries to a textured finish so it's slightly gritty. If you don't like a gritty finish I'd suggest adding a layer or 2 of topcoat but I really enjoyed the finish so I left it as is! 2 coats is pictured.

Details: piCture pOlish Siren Song is available from the piCture pOlish online store and Network members for $12. You can see Rebecca's post about Siren Song here!
I hope you're all having a fantastic start to the year! Let's make 2014 an awesome one!! Thanks for looking as always =)

piCture pOlish Collab-Fest 2013
Happy Monday ladies!! Today I am super excited to show you my piCture pOlish collaboration shade Frosting again for the piCture pOlish Collab-Fest 2013!! Earlier this year I shared Frosting with you which I was amazingly lucky to create with piCture pOlish. All the ladies who have also created amazing collaboration collection shades will be revisiting their shades today as well so you'll be seeing quite a few of these posts =)

Ahhhh I will never get sick of using my collab shade! Frosting is a milky cupcake pink creme filled with small silver, violet and magenta hex glitters and in the mix are some silver hearts. I like to use 3 coats for full glitter coverage (which is pictured in my swatches here) however you could leave it at 2 coats for a softer, milkier look.

I love wearing Frosting on it's own but I couldn't resist adding a bit of cupcake nail art since that was my inspiration for the polish! I used Frosting for the cupcake liner and added some white stripes using a striper brush. Then I used a dotting tool with a dark chocolate brown creme for the cupcake and added a silver heart rhinestone and some red bullions for the sprinkles.

Details: piCture pOlish Frosting and other collaboration shades are available from the piCture pOlish online store and Network members for $12.
I absolutely loved creating my collaboration shade Frosting and I hope you enjoyed having another look at it today!! Make sure you check out the other beautiful collab shades! You can see my original post about Frosting here.

piCture pOlish Frosting by Cosmetic Cupcake
I am so so unbelievably excited to bring you this post today!! A while back piCture pOlish contacted me to create a collaboration shade with them and OF COURSE I said yes. I had to re-read the email to make sure I wasn't dreaming! XD Keeping it a secret for such a long time was unbelievably hard to do let me tell you as I was bursting to let everyone know! Frosting was created together and I'm so delighted to finally be able to share the polish with you guys today.

I was a bit undecided at first what to create as I love so many different types of polishes (flakies, glitters and jellies being my faves!) but I knew I had to go for what I loved to wear myself so something cute, pink and glittery. My inspiration was something that reflected my blog - cupcakes of course!
I had a bright carnation pink shade in mind with pastel glitters and a hint of shimmer through it but unfortunately pastel glitter wasn't available. Instead we went for a pastel pink sprinkles look with some cute hearts thrown in! It wasn't my first pick but I think it turned out soooooo well and I love it =)

What they say:
Frosting is a pastel milky pink crème shade full of silver, magenta and violet glitters plus with a little shake you will find a wonderful surprise – beautiful silver hearts - just magic! And yes these sprinkles really take the cake!"

Frosting as the description says is a milky cupcake pink creme filled with small silver, violet and magenta hex glitters and in the mix are some silver hearts. It is absolutely adorable and so very "me". Heart glitter is a first for piCture pOlish shades so how lucky am I that my collaboration shade gets that honour!!!

For a pastel glitter shade it applies extremely well!! I experienced a tiny bit of balding when I didn't wait long enough in between coats but dry time is quick so it's no issue. There's minimal streaking and I'd recommend 3 thinnish coats for opacity. You could do just 2 coats for a softer look so the pink base looks milkier but I like the look of 3 coats for more glitter.
The smaller glitters apply evenly on the nail and the heart glitters surprisingly well - no need to fish any glitters out of the bottle! The silver hearts and hex glitters take on the milky pink base giving it a muted pink silver look which I really like.
