Review: Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara
As an Asian girl, I am unfortunately not blessed with long luscious eyelashes. It’s not so dire that I have non-existent eyelashes but I would absolutely die to have gorgeous thick lashes without the aid of falsies or lashings of mascara! It seems to be a never ending quest for the Holy Grail mascara that can tick all the boxes for volume, length and curl. Lancôme have just released the very 1st doll lash mascara aimed to achieve a wide-eye look and today I have my review for you!
What they say:
"Hypnôse Doll Eyes takes its inspiration from every young girl's dream to reinvent a fringe of separated, thick, long, 'nylon' shine lashes: true doll lashes! The new Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara lengthens, curls, volumises and separates for the ultimate wide-eye look."
The mascara is packed in a gorgeous black tube with Lancôme's signature roses printed in grey on the side. It's so pretty!
The hybrid nylon wand is protected by a trio of patents and took Lancôme laboratories 7 years to perfect! It has a conical shaped tip so that it can easily get even the tiniest lashes in the corner of your eyes. Below is one coat of Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara with lashes curled prior to application.
I really dislike posting up closeups of my eyes because my eyes look terrible. But you can see the length and volume it gives my lashes!!
Overall: Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara is a winner in my book especially for Asian ladies like myself! I absolutely adore the conical wand - the thin tip lives up to it's promise and really gets in to coat those tiny corner lashes for me. I find most other mascara wands are too big for my eyes to really get in to the corners unfortunately.
Hypnôse Doll Eyes definitely gave my lashes volume and length and kept my lashes curled giving them a full look. I experienced no clumping whatsoever and there was no need to comb my lashes out either. It grabbed nearly every lash and defined them!
So is it Holy Grail for me?? For volume, curl and length YES! However on a few days I've worn it I've had some smudging after a few hours and I'm not sure if it was user error. I'm loving it so far anyway and will monitor how the smudging goes.
Details: Lancôme Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara is available now at leading Myer and David Jones stores and selected pharmacies for $52. For stockists contact 02 9931 888.
Have you tried Lancôme mascaras before? Will you be trying it?

ReplyDeletehaha i know how you feel having typical asian lashes myself! might check this out, i've heard a lot of good things about hypnose mascaras :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this review!! Oh yes, the Asian lashes...I have 'em too. -sigh-. Will have to check into this one!
ReplyDeleteI've almost given up on non-asian branded mascaras because they really don't work for me but this does look a little promising. Thanks for this review! =)
ReplyDeletethanks for the review. too bad it smudges. i will have raccoon as a few hours into the day for sure. i love the original hypnose (waterproof) have you tried that one before?
ReplyDeletethanks for the lovely review :D
ReplyDeleteLancôme is one of the few western brands I love.
been using their Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara since a year and still happy :D But might trade it in for this one to try ^__^ you ever tried that one?
and your eyes look good! especially your skin! it's very nice and clear :D
I love Definicils mascara from Lancome. I saw an ad in a UK mag just today on the Hypnose Doll Eyes and I had high hopes. Looks lovely on you so I might just try it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good but I wouldn't pay that much for it. Lash Blast is cheaper and probably does the same job
ReplyDeletei'm a sucker for packaging ... trying to resist but really want to try this out. i'm a big fan of lancome's hypnose so i'm sure i won't be disappointed. great reveiw - p.s. you 'eye photo' looked greatxo =)
ReplyDelete@Rachel Marie: No worries!! I waste so much money on mascaras seriously so it was sooooo nice to have been handed one that actually lives up to the promises. You should definitely try it!
ReplyDelete@Tara: I honestly wasn't expecting too much and it's blown me away. No mascara before gets my lashes looking this way!
@Jenny: Asian lashes suck! Lol. Definitely check it out, hopefully it will work for you too. I've haven't used other Hypnose mascaras unfortunately though so I can't compare. I liked Virtuose though!
ReplyDelete@tiffyma: Boo for Asian lashes >=( Let me know how you go if you do end up trying it!
@Stacey: What mascara do you use Stacey? No worries, if you do try it let me know how you go!
ReplyDelete@Fannie: No I haven't tried many Lancome mascaras unfortunately. I quite liked Virtuose though.
@Moni: No worries Moni! Thank you for reading it ^_^ Oooh I've played with the Ôscillation mascara and really wanted to try it but never got around to it. I may have to try that one next!
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you for your sweet comment! I don't really like my eyes, I have terrible bags from lack of sleep x(
@Vita: I tried a sample of Definicils and it was terrible on me! Great to hear it works on you though hun. Do try Hypnose Doll Eyes and please let me know how you go with it =)
@beautychattette: That's the downfall of luxury makeup =( The Covergirl Lash Blast wand is WAY too big to get into the corners of my eyes unfortunately and there's no separation. I'm not lucky enough to have luscious lashes where every mascara can work!
ReplyDelete@faye lu: It works very well for me so I hope it would work for you! I haven't tried other Hypnose mascaras but I'm sure you'd like it ;)
Awww lol thanks for the confidence boost lovely!!
I love this it looks quite nice. I am curious as to if anyone will do a makeup tutorial to recreate the look of the Doll Eyes advertisement - the girls eye makeups are beautiful! Thanks for reviewing this for us Chelle :)
