Barry M Gelly Nail Effects Grapefruit
I picked up Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Grapefruit when I was in London last year on my honeymoon but I've only recently gotten around to trying it out. Summer is the perfect season to rock this gorgeous bright shade but the weather is absolutely miserable in Sydney at the moment though doh!
I was seriously tempted to buy the entire Gelly Nail Effects range as Superdrug had a 3 for 2 sale while I was there. I absolutely adore Barry M polishes - there is something about the shape of their bottles that I really like and the Gelly collection is amazing. I've built up a nice little collection of their polishes thanks to my lovely friends Christina and Aysh but how I really wish they still sold the brand here. The hubby's family actually used to own a Barry M store way back in the early 90s!
Grapefruit is a bright cerise pink creme and reminds me of a juicy watermelon instead of a grapefruit. Mmmmmmm! I seem to always be drawn to these types of bright pinks and I have about 2 dozen in my collection I think. Oops! It was a dream to apply and dried quickly to a high gloss shine. I do wish the collection actually had jelly finishes but they have a great formula so I can't complain. 2 coats is pictured with no top coat.
Details: The Barry M Gelly Nail Effects polishes are available from Superdrug, Boots and Barry M online for £3.99.
What's your favourite bright pink polish? Thanks for looking as always!

piCture pOlish Pandora
No Aussie nail art this year for Australia Day unfortunately so instead I have some quick swatches from an Aussie brand for you. piCture pOlish Pandora is a beautiful deep purple scattered holographic that applies beautifully to a glossy finish. There is something special about the combination of purple and holo! You really can't go wrong with this combo. 2 coats is pictured with no top coat.
Details: piCture pOlish Pandora is available from the piCture pOlish online store and Network members for $13.
What's your favourite holo? Thanks for looking as always!

Illamasqua Destiny
The hubby and I went to watch Wicked on Friday night so I had to break out the green polish for the occasion! I saw Wicked with my sis when it was in Sydney a few years back but it was great to see it again. It's always nice to go out for a date night and especially as it'd been aaaaaaages since we'd been to a show. I didn't have time for nail art so what better than a gorgeous green glitter in the form of Illamasqua Destiny. It doesn't match the Wicked green but oh well!
Destiny was released about this time last year as an Australian exclusive shade for Chinese New Year that was available only at Myer (for those playing overseas Myer is a department store here). It contains fine and hex gold glitter in a dark green base and is wonderfully opaque. It's so opaque you could get away with just one even coat but I do 2 coats out of habit.
It dries super smoothly which is really surprising considering how packed with glitter it is. I love the depth of it and it's just gorgeous isn't it! 2 coats is pictured with a coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat.
I'm trying to shop my stash at the moment as I haven't really been in the mood to buy polish much lately. No collections have really jumped out to me which my wallet is happy about!

Acid black distressed manicure
I'm in a nail art rut at the moment so I'm going back to basics - nail art doesn't have to be complicated and I tend to over think it sometimes. I thought I'd finally try out a distressed mani using 2 favourite Kester Black shades. I used 2 coats of Kester Black Acid and then applied Black Rose by wiping most of the polish off the brush and applying uneven strokes to the nail. So easy to do and I think it looks pretty good! I think I'll be more adventurous next time and use a few more colours though.
Thanks for looking as always!

Help Me Ronda Rub-a-Dub Scrub and Hydration Balm review
If you've read my blog for a while now you'll know that I love cuticle and hand care products. I am ALWAYS on the lookout for new products to try in case I find a new Holy Grail product and maybe because I pretty much just want to buy new beauty products! You also might know that I have a few skin problems which means I have to be extra careful when choosing products to use. Today I have 2 products from Help Me Ronda Aromatherapy & Massage that my hands have been absolutely loving and are gentle on my crappy skin.
Now straight up I have to let you know that the owner of Help Me Ronda is a friend and she's been friends with my hubby since primary school. I pull no punches when it comes to all my reviews and you can rest assured that Ronda received no special treatment whatsoever!
First up is the Rub-a-Dub Scrub which is an exfoliating hand and body scrub made from all natural shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, rice powder and tea tree powder. I really suck at describing smells but I'd say it has a fresh scent which is lovely and calming. A great pamper night product!
You only need about a 5-10 cent piece for both hands as a little goes a fair way. I've used a bit too much in the pic below though oops! To use, rub into your palms to melt the scrub and then gently rub for about 30 seconds before rinsing with warm water to reveal softer, smoother looking skin. It leaves a slightly oily film on the skin which soaks in after a while though which helps to lock in moisture and hydrate your skin.
I found the Rub-a-Dub-Scrub super gentle on my skin although it looks a little worrying in the tub. It made the backs of my hands smooth but I found the scrub made the biggest difference on my eczema and dermatitis patches which flare up on the palms of my hands and my ring and pinky fingers. My eczema patches are NOT a pretty sight at all hence why I haven't shown any pics. The scrub softened my rough dry skin leaving it smoother and I simply moisturised well after. It kept my scaly skin at bay for a good week which is a miracle for me - I normally have to resort to my corticosteroids creams so I am in love!
The Apple Pie Hydration Balm from the Just Desserts range smells every darn bit delicious as it sounds. It's made from mango butter, coconut oil, evening primrose oil and tea tree essential oil and can be used on pretty much any dry patch you might have. It works like my beloved Lush Lemony Flutter but the texture of the Hydration Balm is infinitely better - it's softer and smoother so it melts and soaks in wonderfully and quickly too in just a few minutes.
The soft texture however isn't so great in the warmer months as the balm melts so definitely store it in a cool place. I tend to use it on my elbows and as a cuticle balm and a little goes a long way. The size of the balms is also just right for on the go and fits perfectly in my handbag for touch ups while out and about.
I love the silver and white packaging of the Help Me Ronda products as it's clean and simple. All orders come with a care card with general instructions such as making sure you test patch the products which is always important with any new skincare.
Ronda is releasing a Valentines Day Vintage Love Package tomorrow for presale that includes both the Rub-a-Dub-Scrub and Hydration Balm in the Sweet Rose scent and 2 sets of rose nail vinyls from Loki's Nail Vinyls and Emily De Molly Vintage Love polish which are both exclusive to the Vintage Love Package. The set will be $43 (including shipping) so it's a fantastic way to try the brand if you haven't before! The set is available to Aussie ladies only though.
Details: Help Me Ronda products are available from the Help Me Ronda Etsy store and the Rub-a-Dub Scrub retails for $18 and Hydration Balm for $9. Don't forget to check out the Help Me Ronda Facebook page and Instagram for updates and new product releases!
