Kester Black Tropicana collection swatches and review
Are you ready for summer??! Well for those in the southern hemisphere xp With the new Kester Black Tropicana collection you will be! The collection consists of 5 gorgeous bright shades that will definitely get you in the mood for tropical fruit, cocktails and a beach getaway. It also gets me in the mood for fruit manicures! The shades are super bright so it was hard to capture them accurately but I've tried my best!
Again, Kester Black polishes are 5 Free which means that they're free of Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde, Formeheldyde Resin and Camphor. They're also carcinogen free so are safe for chemotherapy patients, expectant mothers and children. The polishes are Australian made and owned and is an accredited Cruelty-Free company.
Dragonfruit is a hot pink with a crelly formula. It reminds me more of strawberries than dragonfruit actually! A cute shade and is a must for summer. 2 coats is pictured.
Papaya is a bright amber (yellow/orange) creme. It's absolutely stunning and definitely reminds me of papaya! I don't like papaya itself but I love this beautiful shade and it's unique to my collection. 3 coats is pictured.
Bougainvillea is a bright lavender creme. This was hard to capture and it's quite a bit brighter in real life. 2 coats is pictured.
Parrot is an awesome bright almost neon green. It was such a pain to try and capture doh. It reminds me of China Glaze Four Leaf Clover! 2 coats is pictured.
Laguna is a dark teal creme. This stains like anything so I highly recommend at least 2 coats of base coat or applying a nude "underwear" polish first to minimise staining! 2 coats is pictured.
Overall: The Kester Black Tropicana collection is so fun and fantastic for summer! Application was good for all shades and I used 2 coats for each except for Papaya where I used 3 as I experienced some balding. I'd recommend waiting a couple of minutes between coats when applying Papaya to minimise this. Dry time was good and they dry to a semi-matte finish.
Laguna is a bit dark for a summer collection I think but I do like wearing darker shades during summer and teal is great for all seasons. My favourites are Papaya and Dragonfruit - during the warmer months I can't get enough yellow/orange shades and also pinks. Parrot is a must for green lovers!
Details: The Kester Black Tropicana collection is available now from the Kester Black online store for $17 each. For more Kester Black swatches, you can check out my reviews of the Winter Shop collection and Sweet Shop collection.
I'll leave you with a pic of the amazing fruit nail art Trophy Wife Nail Art created using the collection!
What do you think of the collection? Thanks for looking as always!

DeleteAwesome colors! Love the pink one. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too!!
DeleteLaguna looks amazing! That shade is right up my street :p I've never heard of Kester Black, but the shades look different to your standard oranges and purples! Xx
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely a bit different and excellent quality too! It's an Australian brand but unfortunately they don't ship internationally yet =(
DeleteThese are lovely colors and you have lovely swatches. It's fall here so even though they aren't as bright and summery like some summer collections like you mention they are still really pretty.
ReplyDeletei've been wanting to add some kester black to my collex for awhile and this only makes my need stronger!
ReplyDeleteThese polishes are gorgeous! :)
