Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Mermaid's Tale
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Mermaid's Tale is a polish I've been wanting for a while as it's a dupe for my beloved Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe (I used it in my Feeling the Blues mani here) as I like to collect dupes for my favourite polishes for some reason lol. I picked it up when Priceline had their 40% off sale a few weeks back even though I tried REALLY REALLY hard not to buy anything!
Mermaid's Tale is a gorgeous dark blue jelly filled with blue and green hex glitters and smaller blue microglitters. Here I've layered 2 coats over 1 coat of Misa High Waist Hue (my "underwear polish") and 1 coat of my HG navy creme LAKA 81. I don't have many swatches for you unfortunately because 95% of my photos turned out absolutely crap hence only 2 lol. You can see I had a bit of tipwear because I didn't seal my tips and I used Seche Vite which didn't agree, I also took these pics on Day 2.
Bonus bottle pic!
Details: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes are available from Priceline, Target, Kmart, Big W, Price Attack, David Jones and pharmacies for $14.95.
Thanks for looking as always!

Neon black studded manicure
I found some time to do nail art this week and I was in the mood to break out the studs! I kept it simple though and only used a few and decided to go for some neon, black and glitter. Again, I’ve got another great offer from Scandal Cosmetics for you this week so keep reading!
I used 2 coats of Scandal Heart lacquer in 13 Bikini Pink* for my thumb and middle fingers. The name Bikini Pink is a bit misleading because the polish isn’t really a pink at all but a neon coral that leans pink and looks orange in most lighting. Confusing name aside it’s an awesome neon!!
For my index and pinky I used 2 coats of Scandal Blackline in 5804 Modern Black* and added square gold studs. For my ring finger I used 1 coat of BYS Astro Gold and then 2 coats of Scandal Heart lacquer in 60 Mocha Sparkle*.
I rarely wear black and orange/coral unless it’s Halloween but I really like the combination and it gives a nice contrast. I don’t think it looks Halloween-ish but I could be wrong though!
Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for $4 and Blackline lacquers are for $5.50.
This weeks offer! Use coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” between Monday 27th May – June 2nd 2013 to receive a huge 25% off your purchase! Don’t forget that all orders made by May 31st receive a free lipgloss and there’s also free shipping with purchases over $100 ;)
Thanks for looking as always!
* Product(s) provided to me for consideration but this in no way influenced my review in any way. As always, my reviews are my 100% honest opinion. My Disclosure Policy can be viewed here.

David Jones 175th Birthday: OPI Loves David Jones - Florence Broadhurst
I am an absolute sucker for limited edition products. Seriously I cannot resist especially when it comes to bags, makeup and of course polish! David Jones (for those playing overseas it's an Aussie department store) celebrated it's 175th anniversary this week and they've collaborated with a number of brands such as Glasshouse, Napoleon Perdis and Camilla to produce limited edition products. One of those products is a LE polish called OPI Loves David Jones and yes I treated myself to a bottle. And boy am I glad I did!
The polish comes in 2 different packagings and I chose the Florence Broadhurst print packaging which is a bright blue patterned box with a clear insert in the front.
OPI Loves David Jones is a gorgeous classic pinky nude sheer creme. I am absolutely in love with it!!!!!! It's soft, delicate and so so feminine - I'm pretty sure I've found my perfect Soft Shade. Perfect for those days when you need a palette cleanser and it would make a great wedding day shade too!
Here I've used 3 coats however if you're careful I think you could get away with 1 thin coat and then a thicker 2nd coat for opacity. I had no streaking or balding which is just FANTASTIC! I've tried quite a few of the Soft Shades from OPI over the years and none really ticked all the boxes for me - they're either too sheer and therefore require 3+ coats for opacity (eg. NYC Ballet shades, It's a Girl, Bubblebath) or they're too streaky (eg. the discontinued Tickets to Paradise) so I was totally blown away by the formula and shade. It dried to a high gloss finish and dry time was no issue even though I used 3 coats.
Details: OPI Loves David Jones is available from David Jones stores and David Jones online for $19.95. I definitely recommend picking this up!! I'm thinking of getting a back up actually!!
I'm interested to know - what are your favourite soft shades? Be it pinks, nude.. I'm always on the hunt for holy grail shades so let me know in the comments below! Thanks for looking as always!

Cake stand nail polish storage
I'm setting up my new blogging area at the moment and I can't decide how I want to have it! One thing I knew I had to have though was a tiered cake stand to display some of my favourite nail polishes which is also a fantastic way to store nail polishes. If you have a smaller sized collection it's so much better than a box or normal plastic polish display stand!
I searched for ages for the perfect cake stand as I wanted something cute (of course!) and I finally settled on the Maxwell & Williams Cashmere Aviary three tier cake stand which is soooooooo adorable. I spotted it in David Jones earlier this year and knew I had to have it! I hit the jackpot though because I managed to redeem it using my Qantas frequent flyer points as they had a sale and I JUST had enough points! Very rarely do I actually get to redeem anything using frequent flyer points so it was very satisfying.
It comes with 3 cute plates with birdcages, flowers and birds. I love the colours and it's super easy to screw it all together.
A random selection of some of my favourite polishes! Yep most of them are glitters LOL.
What do you think? How do you store your polishes or display your faves? I came across a 2 tiered cupcake cake stand packaged in a nice pink hat box thingy at Target the other day which would make a perfect display stand if anyone wants a cute one!
Thanks for looking as always! =)

Pink glitter and bows manicure
Hi ladies! I have some quick girlie nail art for you today. Whenever I don’t get time to do nail art I always opt for a glitter gradient – quick and easy! My photos are all over the shop at the moment unfortunately as I’m still trying to figure out the best lighting situation so please bear with me =) I also have another exclusive offer for you from >Scandal Cosmetics so please keep reading!
I used 2 coats of Scandal Shine polish in 11 Pearl Pink* which looks like an unassuming pale pink with microshimmer in the bottle. Then bam! On the nail, it’s a gorgeous delicate pale pink with fine gold, red and green microshimmer. I’ll do a proper swatch of it once I get my lighting up and running! I then used China Glaze Medallion for the glitter gradient and added a cute bow nail part*. Topped it all off with Scandal Heart lacquer top coat.
Details: Scandal Shine polishes and nail parts are $6 and are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store.
This week’s offer! Use code "shinepolish" for $12 off your order. Valid from Monday 20th May - Sunday 26th May 2013.
Thanks for looking as always and happy shopping!!

Lush forum special perfume: Creamy Candy
I'm a bit late but just a quick post to let you know about an exciting forum special from Lush!! They've released 6 limited edition perfumes created from 6 of their best sellers and are sold exclusively online for this weekend only. So if you're after them you better get on it!!
I adore sweet scents and my absolute favourite product from Lush is their Snow Fairy body wash. I stock up on it every year and it's literally the only body wash I use. It is sweet candy heaven in a bottle!!!!!!!! Plus there's sparkles! XD I've always wanted it bottled into a perfume and Creamy Candy perfume comes close.
Creamy Candy smells just like the Creamy Candy bar and Rockstar soap - sweet, yummy and like candy floss. It's not exactly the same as Snow Fairy unfortunately but it's pretty close! Snow Fairy is less sweet and has more of a fruity undertone to it I think. The perfume is very strong so one good spritz is more than enough to last the entire day! It comes in the signature Lush black and white packaging.
Details: The Lush limited edition perfumes are available now from the Lush Australia online store until midnight May 19th 2013.
What's your favourite Lush scent? I hope they make a Snow Fairy perfume soon!!! Have a fab weekend and thanks for looking as always! =)

Cirque Cape Liz
A few months back I hauled a few Cirque polishes that I'd been lemming for a while. One of them was Cape Liz which I HAD to have after seeing Amy Graces' gorgeous swatch of it! One can never have enough blues I think ;)
Cape Liz is a stunning light blue with blue and silver shimmer. How beautiful is it!! It was a bit hard to capture the shimmer on my nails but you can see it in my bottle pic above. Application was reasonable - the formula is a bit thick so I used 3 thin coats which is pictured.
Details: Cirque polishes are available from the Cirque online store and selected stockists for $13US.
There are so many awesome brands available these days there's just not enough time (or $$!) to try them all. I'm so glad I finally hauled Cirque!

Scandal Heart nail lacquer in 48 Red Sparkle
Hi ladies! I was contacted by Scandal Cosmetics recently to collaborate with them and to try out some of their latest products. Of course I said yes! I’ve used Scandal polishes over the years and if you live in Sydney or Melbourne I’m sure you’ve drooled over their colourful stands of polishes in cosmetics stores as I have! Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing swatches and some fun nail art using their products. They’ve also been very generous and each week there’ll be an exclusive offer for their online site for you guys! Today’s polish is from their Scandal Heart nail lacquer range which is my favourite collection.
48 Red Sparkle is a gorgeous packed red and silver glitter in a dark wine red base. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to try it out! You know how much I love glitters! Application was great and the glitters applied very evenly on the nail, dry time was good too. I really enjoy using the brushes in the Heart range – they’re flat and wide and remind me of the OPI Pro-Wide brushes I adore so much except they aren’t as flat. Even the bottles look nearly identical! Here I’ve layered 2 coats of Red Sparkle over 2 coats of Scandal Blackline in 5804 Modern Black.
Close up:
Details: Scandal Heart nail lacquers are available from Scandal Cosmetics online store for a$4.
This week’s offer! Use coupon code “cosmeticcupcake” between Monday 12th May– Sunday 19th May 2013 to receive a huge 20% off the entire site! For the month of May all orders will receive a free lipgloss too!
Thanks so much for looking and happy shopping!
